fairlady, how much did you pay for the aerogaurds from fizz?
| Mrfairlady | 02-23-2005 04:59 PM |
I can't remember the Exact amount....because They quoted me them + the V-Limited and w/o shipping untill the V_limited got there so I wanna say like $160 +/-.They we're higher $$ there than some other places I checked but they have them in stock and you don't have to ship from JAPAN. Thats a plus.
PM ol' FIZZ ^ that posted here and he'll tell ya.call em...they got em for SURE.

I could be way off base here, but it sounds to me like you are talking about the side visors that go above the windows. I think these guys/girls are talking about the aeroguards that sit behind the front (on the sideskirts) and rear (on the bumper) wheels.
If not, I apologize for further promoting confusion.

i'm talking about the aeroguards that go on the sideskirts and rear bumper. I heard we can get them from canada but i was just wondering if anyone knows a reputable dealer or someone up there that can get it.

02/03 style is available in Canada- do a search there is a dealer in BC that has sold many sets- they come unpainted, but the price is reasonable.
04+ it's Japan, pricey, but are prepainted:)

i don't mind unpainted ones, shouldn't cost too much to paint them anyways.

| brcewane | 03-06-2005 09:39 PM |
Yup you can get them up here in Canada.. .they go for $245 CDN for the front set... What I am looking at doing is getting a pair and then making fiberglass replicas for people... I'll be making posts once I make some progress because $245 is way too much for these things...

well just wanted to give everyone an update. I called specialtymotors subaru of vancouver, canada and ordered a set of aeroguards for my sedan. The price came to be 175 shipped to california but i have to wait for them to come in. They should have the wagon ones in stock.

^ That's where I got my original set (price has gone up a bit :)), they are unpainted and for the 02/03 only, but come w/ all the hardware etc to mount them.

so let me get this right, they go between like $175 shipped to Calif adn $300 plus shipping. I paid $250 shipped and I am knida bent on that one if they can be had for under $200.
| Hank3 | 03-22-2005 06:10 PM |
A couple of Canadian Subaru Dealers are selling them for under $200 shipped IIRC. Almost a year ago one actually had them on sale for $121 + shipping, but the price has gone up on these supposedly.

So the one's in Canada are just for the 02-03, right?
If someone wants just the rear, I'll take the front (I'm assuming they'll fit 04's because the side skirts are the same) and we'll split the cost. I'll just pay for the shipping cost of the rear pieces to you.

That's correct the "canada" ones are for the 02/03- the fronts however are "universal"- 02-05, it's the rears that differ.

I've done some info digging on these for omahasubaru and Hank3 and here's what I found:
==========================================================
I know of two Canadian Dealers that can get you these aeroguards.
Don Docksteader Subaru
http://www.dondocksteader.com/dd-subaru.htm
Specialty Subaru
http://specialty.subarudealer.ca/
Both are located in Vancouver, BC, Canada (and incidentally local to me)
==========================================================
I've spoken to Don Docksteader Subaru and they can get a set (front/rear) aeroguards for either the sedan or wagon for approximately
$CDN 277.21 regular price
-- OR --
$CDN 194.05 (30% off regular price if ordered during the garage sale, or the week leading up to the garage sale)
-- OR --
$CDN 166.65 (super-special clearance price, if docksteader decides to clear them out at the garage sale)
The garage sale is normally held during the first Saturday in May (I believe it is May 7th this year, 2005)
==========================================================
That being said, I've gotten mixed responses from Don Docksteader about dealing with shipping to US customers directly (they told me that they encourage people to phone-in their orders on the week prior to the garage sale as it gets busy on the actual day of the event -- but at the same time they seemed unwilling/reluctant to handle direct shipping to US customers)
So, from the sounds of sjscooby's post it seems specialty seems the way to go since they seem friendly to US customers AND are willing to handle shipping directly to you fromt the sounds of sjscooby's post.
Incidentally, (again from speaking to the parts guys at Docksteader) the warehouse where these aeroguards are kept is actually located on the East Coast in Toronto, ON Canada I believe, so it would be ideal if someone could find a Toronto Subaru Dealership contact since it would save the lead-time to ship from East-Coast --> West Coast (where Specialty is located) --> US.
(especially if you live on the east coast of USA)
In the next post, I'll discuss the part number info I've found out so far..

No problem Hank3 -- glad to help!
Just wanted to add -- at the request of another board member, I priced out
aero rear wagon J1010FE244
at Don Docksteader subaru, and it was like a shocking CDN $248.86 :eek: presumably because it's not a commonly ordered/stocked part by SOC.
Considering that the front/rear set goes for $277.21, it seems that economies of scale are at play here (ie. entire set goes for cheaper from SOC, which IS a regularly ordered/stocked vs. individual pieces which go for much more)

The ones everyone have been ordering have been the ones that are not painted though as far as I have seen, is that correct?
