06 WRX leather interior

Do you guys think a leather interior worth $1k? Comes with F&R seats with heater module and door panels with switches. Will the heater module work with other WRX years that are not equiped with this option?

I love leather. I can't understand how some people prefer cloth. I wish my car had leather interior.

I got the leather and I love it.

I don't think its worth 1k. But your 04 had heated seats available also. I've got em on my 04, but I'm rocking the cloth.

I have heated cloth seats on my '04 and now have the limited '06 wrx with leather. Definitly love it:D But for that Limited $1k you get leather, sunroof, heated seats/mirrors/windshield, auto-dimming mirror with compass and homelink system, plus a better resale I would guess.
| D fresh | 02-06-2007 02:45 AM |
^^I believe he's talking about buying the interior for 1k to swap into his 04. And FWIW I've got heated seats and moonroof, but no leather on my 04, so you don't need the limited to get a moonroof.

Are you sure the auto-dimming w/compass & HomeLink comes standard on the WRX Limited? My 07 WRX Limited didn't come with it, but with my Subaru bucks I bought a auto-dimming mirror with compass (along with some SPT stuff).
According to the Subaru web site, the "Limited Package" which consists of leather...heated seats...moon roof...rear spoiler...and heated side mirrors and windshield wipers de-icer is a $2500 option.
And yes, 1K for leather and heated seats is worth it!

you can get the heated seats without the leather. Mine wore quickly on the edge of the bolster. I would stick with the cloth, the leather is hard, freezing in the winter and sweaty in the summer. and you slide all over the place when driving sportily.
| Knightmare69 | 02-06-2007 11:17 AM |
Yea, when I was looking for my WRX, I was between a 04 with Leather Heated seats or my 05 with cloth heated seats, I took the cloth 05.
| kreitz3 | 02-06-2007 11:42 AM |
Cloth > Leather FWIW. I don't enjoy sliding all over my seat.
| WRXSleeper | 02-06-2007 11:48 AM |
The WRX leather is cheap. Besides heated or not it takes a few minutes to get warm and it's too hot in the summer. You also slide around too much.
| WRX_JUNKi | 02-06-2007 12:03 PM |
I like the heated seats for winter but still sucks when you first get in the car. Summer time it just sucks period... Sweaty back. Should've gotten a TR instead of a limited. Didn't know any better at the time of purchase. After one year the leather on the driverside has butt prints so quality sucks!
| NoCalSubie | 02-06-2007 12:21 PM |
I was not aware that the leather would slide around more than cloth. In that case I'm not interested. Anyone else here might be? I can help a member out.

Whoa whoa whoa there guys. I have leather and I don't slide around hardly at all. Even in "spirited" driving. If you take care of the leather will last longer than cloth and will hold resale better. It also classes the car up a little. I think it is worth it, sure.

Ok, so you have leather....
What is your description of "spirited driving"
and how many miles hav eyou put on said leather?
I have had the bottom portion of the seat cusion replaced under warranty already. and I am now looking to have the top portion done. The wear is not that great.

15k miles. Tires squeeling. Seat still feels great. I like to see how fast I can exit a corner. I like to try to hit double the "recomended speed".....as safely as possible of course. Sorry to hear your seat has crapped out already, that sucks.

I have an 06 ltd with leather and I do not slide at all... even at the track. They bolster a hell of a lot more than the TR seats. They look great so far <13k miles I haven't had much wear at all. I used leather cleaner a few times and it seems to be helping.
is leather worth 1k??? Ehhh for me no, but it is sure nice to have!

could have something to do with having 48,000 miles, a full season of AutoX with 2 drivers. nothing holds you into the seat except full harnesses.
I run with race tires, so I am getting harder cornering forces than I am asuming you are. I can see if the leather would hold up that it would increase value. But in the case of the impreza leather, it is going to look like crap. The rear seat is already dried out and cracking, that is after getting the full leather treatment every other wash.
in short, maybe you got a good run of leather that had some quality. but mine downright sucks. It is a ****ty quality leather. I work in an industry that uses leather (a lot of leather) and it is not upholstry grade, but it is better than the crap in my car.

^^ haha yeah in your case I'd think something like a set of Bride Gia's would do you good. No WRX seat is going to be great for what you are doing.
Too bad they would look pretty bad with you interior. Well, maybe not with black but tan for sure.

yeah that and knock me out of "stock" class.
plus with the miles I put on I would like to keep the entire SRS system functioning.

Oh...without a doubt you corner harder than I do. I don't auto x. I will admit that I keep my leather cleaned and conditioned. Every month I re-do it. I love new leather, I hate neglected leather. For me...totally worth it.
FWIW: The wife loves the heated seats, I love the turbo, she loves the moonroof, I love the awd, she loves the leather, I love the leather. Everyone wins. $2500 was worth it. I feel like it is more than $2500 more car than a base wrx or tr.
BTW, what are you treating your leather with? Seems strange.

It is a dupont product. I don't have it in front of me I will have to look.
the biggest problem is the leading edge of the bolster is noticably wearing. The rear headrest area is hard as a rock no matter what I do.
I normally love leather, but the stuff subaru is using is pure junk. When I get a chance I will be ordering alcantara to replace the center of my seat. (it gets awefully sticky on long trips or in the summer.

I have an 06 wrx limited with leather and I love it. Its worth the 1000

I think I remember reading somewhere that you should not use petrolium based conditioners (armorall) on leather....

I will have to check. but it was recommended to me by one of our tannery guys.
