Yea, thx mykrrrr!

Could the corner lights be painted as well?
555 07-27-2003 09:28 PM

how do you do that?
RSarte 07-27-2003 11:44 PM

Yes the corners can be painted.;)

Hey raynold you have nice car and a nice camera :)

how did you open your headlamps? Does it make any vapour? Stock headlamps are 450$ in here
I also liked your grill :)

cheers

My corners are painted but from that angle it doesn't show it that well.

RSarte's car obviously shows it better. :D

Thanks 555. :D
How are you? How's the GT doing? Are you modding it to get it to the level your old one was?:D

The camera is a Canon A70.. great camera!! I love it.
I actually photoshopped the image to make the car stand out more.

Anyways, I used a heatgun to crack open the headlight and painted the surrounding chrome which goes infront of the actual bulb. I used a high temp black paint.
You will see what I mean by the chrome piece, when you crack the lights open. I have no problems with the headlights at all. Just make sure to heat the adhesive well so u can push them back in without a problem.;)

$450?!?! equivalent to US dollars!?!?! that's outrageous. :furious:
If you like I can ask a dealer to get one for you for probably less! If you need new ones.:)

The grill is a regular V5-6 grill left unpainted with a green I badge. It goes well with the color scheme.

PM me if you want more specific directions on the headlight mod.;)

take care!

RSarte,

I am a big Subaru fan, i never knew the v5&6 grill is different w/ the one on our American 2.5RS until u mentioned, shame on me

Where could I get that?
ATX25RS 07-28-2003 06:10 PM

try www.isrperformance.com

thx ATX25RS, but i can't find it there :(
mykrrrr 07-29-2003 12:01 AM

I got my V5/6 grille from Lisa @ Subaru Gwinett. She's a vendor on here. IIRC, it was $135 plus like $8 shipping. I got it painted for free when I had some bodywork done.

Thank you Raynold. I'm tired of modding cars I just want to stay stock because this year I need to pay my attention to University :) But I have purchased Koni Suspensions 3 days ago with a good price (500$) I'm going to fit them today. The old one has had a Proflex suspension kit so there is a huge diffrence between the stock.

Anyways I like your car.I thought that you had used a microwave cook to open the headlight :) Geninue parts of Subarus are very expensive in here. This also why I had purchased a walbro gss341 from canada otherthan giving 650$ in here. Thanks for your politeness.

take caree

sure is...;)

I paid more, but mine was painted...:D
RSarte 07-30-2003 02:01 PM

Try CC-B for the Orciari style grille, which is like the 22B style. $95 is not too bad!;) and Eddie was cool when I bought the Orciari bodykit from him.

Also... Primitive Racing has the V5-6 style grill for $90! I bought brembo rotors and some brake pads from Mike and he's pretty cool too.
These are unpainted prices of course, and non-Subaru (OEM) grills, but I would think they are good quality still.;)

Good luck!!:D
DanzBorin 07-30-2003 02:19 PM

I beleive rallispec is OEM... You might have to call and ask... the nice thing about OEM is it installs just like stock... 2 clips...;)
GC8 Impreza STI 07-30-2003 09:30 PM

Seems like Primitive Racing is the best!

thx guys!

does it connect with clips, or do you have to screw it in? If you have to screw it in, you are better off paying $10 more to get the real thing...

I asked www.get-primitive.com, they said it requires drilling to install
(you drill the part to add a tab)

So should i drill a cheaper one or just plug and play a real one?
RSarte 07-31-2003 10:15 AM

Well if shipping doesn't cost you like $20 more then go for the genuine one. But if you don't mind the drilling and saving money... go for the replica. ;)

The OEM one is definitely easy to install! But I was at the point also, where I thought over $100 for a freakin grille!?!?! But mine came with an "i" badge so $110 was ok. :D
At least, I'd like to think so... at least so my other self won't get pissed off paying that much for a grille.

It's up to you, but as long as rallispec is the real deal, I'd pay $10 more in a hartbeat... It's not made out of fiberglass, and takes about 30 seconds to put in, and it's just as easy to remove as stock...

Give rallispec a ring and make sure It's real, but since there other parts seem to be, I would assume it is...;)
