Quality of REPLICA STi Carbon Fiber Wing??

Just wanted some opinions on quality and prep work needed for a REPLICA STi Carbon Fiber Wing. I am seriously considering purchasing one since I don't have a wing on my WRX... I've seen people with replica carbon fiber parts which look like you know what after time under the sun.... Please no biased opinions... Thanks in advance

i dont like the arch it has from looking at it directly from the rear. if they fix that, ill buy one...otherwise, i would save up and just get the sti one.

I have one and it don't have an arch and I love it
people have said that comparing the two in person, the replica is better looking as the original is much duller and the replica is glossier.
Really gives the car a tail lift ( cuz it's not a face lift:lol: )

Ya, that was the first thing I noticed -- the replica isnt as black as the real one, and you can actually see the CF much better...and like leo said glossier...

I just installed mine last night and it looks perfect. I don't really understand what is the"arch" u talking about. do you mean there is a bit taller shape on the center of wing? the only thing I don't like is the plastic cover that covers the monting bolt on the trunk lid. they look cheap. don't know if the real one has the same looking of those covers. otherwise, this wing is nearly ferfect for the replica.

I've seen that one that MAD REX just posted in person and it looks sweet.
I like the S202 style wing like that, it does look good.
$4/500 from Gruppe-S is a good deal, it does look like it's very good quality.
The owner of the second one MAD REX posted is HiFiWRX. Ask him if you got some more Qs. His is the Gruppe-s replica.

the wrx with 'i love boost' doest not seem like it has an arch..looks almost flat. that's the look i want.
but the second one 'hifiwrx' definitely has an arch in the middle which doesnt ring up to $395 shipped. since those are
hand made (i think) its possible that some have more arch
than others.

:rolleyes: right....Have you ever seen the sti wing in person, it has a buldge in the middle part of the wing...its part of the whole wind tunnel tested part...its just different angels that the picture was takin in....as u can see in this picture...

Am I blind?? What is this "arch" everyone keeps talking about?? From the pics that have been posted thus far, I dont see and arch. I am very interested in ordering the replica, especially since it's $395 (shipped!!) instead of the $1,200-$1,300 for the real one.

yeh, one of the worst picts were in the grupp-s for sale CF parts thread or something. one of the guys took a pict of it and there was a definite arch. and not only me, there are others that dont like that arch and have passed on that wing.
but again, some of them might have more arch than others.

I have the "real" STi wing... maybe the "arch" is referring to the portion on the top forward side of the wing??

I just got my Group-S Carbon Fiber spoiler in today and I think it looks Awesome!! Especially for the price of only $399. After looking at it and several pictures of all angles of the Real STI Carbon Fiber spoiler I can't see any difference at all.

Thats the best close-up shot I have of my STi wing. There is a pink STi logo woven into the CF on the underside of the wing near the back. The entire setup can't weigh more than a couple pounds. It really is a beautiful piece up close. I normally hate GT-style wings, but I love this one. I considered getting the replica, but really felt having the real deal was worth the $ to me personally. From the pics I have seen, the replicas look very similar though. I'd be curious what they looked like right next to each other and up close, but then again who cares I suppose... :p
