WHO is going to Petite LeMans and WHY?

After booking a plane ticket already ( non-refundable),...2 days later Porsche decides to withdraw from Petite, then I realized that there is NO Speed WC or GT races either . So with all due respect to ALMS....this is one of the weakest Petites EVAR. BUT....................Its still the atmosphere and thrill etc that you go for, I just prefer when there is a packed paddock etc. I would see if they threw some TRANS-AM cars in there, but WOW.
SO , on that note,..is anybody else going?

check the alms forums there is word of a couple euro teams coming over for PLM and LS. I wish i could go but i am scheduled to go to fl with the fiance

Reason: For me it is becoming a yearly vacation, and close to the house; it has nothing to do with beer or the smell of brake dust in the morning. ;)
Even though porsche bailed, LMP2 should be more action-packed than last year. GTS should be great too.
I grabbed a killer RV spot outside of 10a but now the hurricane, and the smash car race at Tally have grabbed all the RVs in the atlanta area.
Gemme an RV.

Yeah, thats true. I remember the IMSA AUDI's from 1989 and the HUGE crowds of people who flocked to Summit Point, a track NOT designed for 10,000 people.

i hate the audi!! lol...
got sick of chasing it for two seasons..... ;)
it should be a good alms event if they zyteks and other cars show up, the astons will be there...
i dont think p2 will be anymore exciting than usual...... but we will see....as normal it will be dyson taking it to the audis....and trying to finish... come on dyson!
next year will be a transition year...but bmw has confirmed they are looking at a return to LMP1, and audi's new car has been more than on pace...dyson has two new lola's with twin turbo AER motors coming (from what i was told)....
anyway...ill be there in my 9001 whp evo myles... lol... if i get it back together.

Just cancelled my ticket and put that towards SEMA instead. There is a Porsche club race going on here and I have never gone to Petite for a DAY. And certainly not without the Speed GT and TC...................

Im heading down there tommorow. It kinda crushed me about the P1 Porche.. but I have yet to see the Aston Martins, the new C6, the saleen s7, and the zytek car run.
