What is this part in the WRC car???
I saw this in a picture and have no idea what it is. It looks to be made of foam?? and looks like it would hold 2 basketballs perfectly. Any Ideas???

| wilddave1 | 12-13-2001 01:21 PM |
yeah, i can see where you would put the helmets and even the cupholders. I thought you put a helmet on you head not in the backseat.

they are fro the helmets...and the padding is more there to keep them from killing themselves on the roll cage if they were to run it over....helmet hitting foam soft...helmet hitting roll cage...not soft.

What? did you even look at the picture? he's talking about the foam in the back seat...

Hmmmm... I don't understand why you would need a storage compartment for your helmets in the car. They have a trailer they can store all that stuff in. Hard to judge the size of the holes, but I'm thinking maybe it could be for holding spare tires securely. Just a thought.

You need storage for the helmets when you're on a transit. They throw them in those big gulp sized cup holders & put their headsets on. Those helmets get mighty hot & sweaty, it's great to get them off after a stage.

right-click, save as, then view with ACDSee32, hit the * key and it makes the pic fit the screen.

Yeah, helmets. Take a look at the model car someone posted a while back. It has the helmets in the back.

Nooo, that's where they keep the Roulette Wheel!
Or perhaps that's the party attachment, that's where they put the Keg. Burns likes his brew.

Its not cup holders or for basketballs or even helmets. Its the padding for the Rally spec Trunk Monkey (prodrive of course). :monkey:

Hey, they don't have that glow in the dark escape handle like I do in my WRX. What happens if someone is locked in the trunk?

That's not the escape handle, John! That's the make the car point the other direction handle, you should know that!
| johnfelstead | 12-15-2001 06:16 PM |
I know Dave, who in their right mind would want to escape from that seat anyway?

I like how they put Burn's name on inside of his door. Do they realy think he's that dumb?
| Arnie | 12-15-2001 11:36 PM |
Probably not, but its good for the home viewer when we get the in cockpit view during a race.
| GreatWurm | 12-16-2001 02:53 AM |
I think the name on the door is just to get Makinen riled up
