STI V1 front lip

is it the wrong choice for a 2002 wrx ? just want some input ... thanks! :D
| QfactorRS | 03-04-2003 10:09 AM |
what do you mean the "wrong" choice?
there is no wrong and right in car dress-up, there is what you like and what everyone else likes/dislikes.
you can go with what everybody does, or you can have your own unique thing and get flamed for not being a follower.
it is up to you to decide.
The V1 lip is very esthetic and will look good on multiple application, it's main attraction is that it looks great with the stock sideskirts.
Dare to be different

wow, one of the most friendly posts I've seen in a long time... nice ! :D

Is this what they call a "politically correct" answer?
I drool over the V1 lip. But because I auto-x my car, I don't think banging cones with an expensive lip is a good idea.

the more you tear up nice expensive parts on the race track or auto-x course the less of a poser that makes you IMHO...
just look at "real" Japanese tuner cars... there's always expensive wheels and other parts that are beat on them

cone marks on your front lip only make your genitals that much bigger!!
for example:
a cone mark about 1"x3" will make you 1x3x2=6 times more the man that you are!!
now that is math they should teach kids in school!

from vivid ??? i think they are selling it for around 525??? thats the price i found from most of the vendors...
japanparts.com is selling it for cheaper, but shipping is gonna cost you...
i've seen replicas, they go about 199 per pop unpainted... but in the long run, you will be happier with the real thing.
I got mine from ENIX performance... they are new... i didn't know they also carry subaru stuff... you just have to ask them.
they got my v1 lip for around 475, no S&H coz i pick it up myself... not a hot deal but... at least i don't have to worry about S&H thats why i bought it from them.
edit: Shipping sux for v1, coz its ONE BIG BOX... unlike the v2 the s&h will be no biggie... but how can you compare the two? v1 just kick @$$ :)

What's the best rear underspoiler to go with the V1 front lip and painted stock sides? I just got a V1 and am getting my sides painted at the same time I get the painted and want to make plans for a rear lip... Thanks, JC

How's going over speed bumps and getting into parking lots with the v1 lip? I was thinking of getting one and lowering my car with Eibach pro kit springs. The incline to get into my driveway is aweful. It's almost 45 degrees.

speed bumps are okay :)
MY driveway is the same, i have to angle it going in, and out..
And no matter what, you WILL scrap.

That would work out well actually as it would save me the trouble of getting paintwork done again. :) JC
