Bugeye STi Grille...To debadge or not?

So i picked up a damaged JDM STi grille from a local guy this weekend for $50. The only thing wrong with it was a small indent about a half inch long and a broken tab in the back. A little bit of Duramix semi-rigid and it's lookin' almost new. I'm just tryin to decide whether or not to take the STi badge off. Some say it's poser, and i kinda wanna be different. Can't decide though. What do you guys think?

do whatever you think will look the best, who cares if your being a "poser" with the sti emblem if you want it there keep it im sure your putting out close to the numbers of a stock STI

i'd say move the STI badge to the center and do away with the stars oval badge. that would be different.

So I couldn't wait to throw it in. As soon as that glue got nice and solid i went and threw it in. STi badge in tact. It looks like it fits pretty good and the color difference isn't too far off from what i can tell with my spotlight. It's too dark. I'll throw up some pics tomorrow.

I wouldn't worry too much about it. It's not like there was even the option of buying an STi Bugeye.

I never understood this line of thinking... STI makes parts not cars its the WRX STI not the subaru STI. There are a tuning divison like muguen(sp?) is to honda or AMG merc

I've got an sti badge on my grill, on my rear hatch, and the door decals too :lol: I'm not quite as fast as an STi, but I'm close, and I've got all the other exterior goodies to make me look legit.
I have nothing against STi badges on a "non-sti" car, keep it on!!! :banana:

So here are the pictures before and after. I know it doesnt fit perfect but it was smacked on the drivers side so it doesn't fit exactly flush around the headlight but i'm going to fiddle with it some more this weekend when i have some daylight to burn. I think it looks way better.

leave it on... Toyota guys put TRD badges on. STI makes tuning parts not just for STI but for Impreza also...

I had mine on for a while and then took it off - but not because I felt like a poser, just wanted it to look more understated. Going to take out the center emblem soon too.

I figured i can always take it off later. Greg, love your car man. I don't know if you remember talkin' to me at Subiefest or not. I was thinking the same thing about the STi emblem, i like the clean low profile look. I don't have any side shots right now, but there are some in the local forum i'll grab and throw up.

Leaving on the sti emblem should have nothing to do with being a poser or worrying about what people think. Sti is a parts group not a car as others have said! If people say well "It's not an Sti" guess what they don't know what the hell they are talking about. Keep it on if you like it, if not take it off simple as that.

im impressed that a lot of you actually care about being posers. I was usually always against having emblems of a 'higher' model on a lower model car. I do understand that that piece is an actual sti piece. That being said, I'm not even sure what i would do if i was in your situation and had the sti grill with the sti badge. Actually, now that i think about it, i would probably take off that sti badge and stick an AWD badge there instead :D
I only think that STI badge would look good there only if your car was totally decked out in its jdm sti counterparts to make it actually look like a full fledged bugeye sti.

Leave it on, Its a STi grill. If you got a STi TMIC you wouldnt do anything to that to make it not say STi
