yet another 22b kit thread
OK, I have been looking everywhere for everything known about who is making 22b replica parts. I have found one reliable place that seems legit htautos.co.uk. What is all this i find while searching about this: there is someone named steve ramm and a company called areosim-research.com, where did they go? so far i guess the closest we can get to a 22b is htautos, and a 22breplica wing and grill... or is there any other choice? well, im off to my local hobby store to purchace a 22b model to stare at for a good portion of the day. I'll be drooling all over it. or maybe ill print out some pictures of a 22b and make a colage, or maybe ill import one to the us as a race only car and just park it on my front lawn and rev it for a good part of the afternoon, enough rambling, talk to ya all later... _Swift

Don't bother with HT Auto's guy's , it's not a replica kit, just "stick-on" arches , to give the effect of larger arches, the kit off Areoism-Research would be a better bet :D
rabbitnutz 05-03-2005 06:40 PM

there used to be a full fiberglass kit on ebay for around $700 +shipping. it comes and goes on there though.
Impr3zaGuy 05-03-2005 09:49 PM

Steve @ Aerosim is still working on it.

Just wait couple of more years *cough* *cough* I mean months.

that one is made in Taiwan, fitting is not perfect and as you said - fiberglass
Axion541 05-03-2005 11:55 PM

Aerosim = worth the wait

^What he said. Steve's last post on RS25.com said something about him being busy with all the swaps hes been doing. I guess he just got space cleared so now he can get the oven doors open and hopefully do a batch of kits...only time will tell. Definately wait for his kit--done right the first time. :)

don't know how it's the fibreglasse's fault is NOT down to being fibreglass it's down to the people who make's the kit , if if doesn't fit well it's their fault they made it
SCOOBIEdoo 05-05-2005 12:06 AM
easy there m8, "and" separate the sentence and I was making a point that fiberglass is easy to damage
 so is anything carbon , glass , wing's , hood , trunk  ,
fitting is not perfect and as you said - fiberglass
nothing there about being easy to damage just about poor fit which is down to who made the kit not it being fibreglass ,
i'm taking it easy  :disco:
Hyper 05-05-2005 07:25 PM

carbon is stronger then fiberglass, my turn to give you a
dubaru 05-05-2005 07:39 PM

lets try to end this pissing contest (lately it seems like a lot of threads are getting off topic - goddamn hi-jackers!)

anyone know if bugeyes are getting a widebody from aeroism?

-ChuckD
dj73 05-06-2005 06:06 PM

depend's how many layer's of carbon ? carbon shatter's / brittle !
If a kit is a poor fit it's down to who made the kit not what material is used e.g fiberglass
have another

I'm trying my best, but he's not listening

your logic applies to anything, sucky job = not reliable, nobody argues here

my point applies to general facts comparing 2 materials, in case you don't understand

Hm. Yeah, it'd be nice to see a kit that was as near exact a match to the 22b as could be - for the body, at least. I'm assuming on the 22B, those panels are actually formed as such, not a body add on? I haven't done my homework, so..
gm6 07-24-2005 12:49 AM

can you buy launsport parts in the US?
shumai_boi 07-24-2005 01:37 AM

i can get their parts if you serious.

The kits from HT Autos are 'FULL' wide kits using the exact dimensions of a 22B
2 x FULL 'bolt on' front wings
2 x FULL rear quarter panels
2 x Sills

And if that doesn't include shipping it is probably closer to $1500. Nice bumper though.
MyScoobie28 06-06-2006 01:36 PM

that would be the v5 type-r sport bumper, not a 22b.
if you put that bumper on with 22b fenders, they wouldn't go along at all.
that bumper is not for a widebody car. -arthur

when it comes to things like carbonfiber yes the quality of fitment will be greatly affected by how it was made but with fiberglass even if it is made in the best mold ever and each part comes out of that same mold they will not all be exactly the same. also after these kits are mass produced they sit around from days - weeks - months in which the parts begin to flex and warp from sitting around on shelves. there in is your main fitment issues with fiberglass but yes if its made poorly then it will fit even worse.

At the time you didn't :D

I don't think these 22B kit's will be mass produced just " made to order " and if the part's are correctly stored , stacked etc there shouldn't be warping etc ,
yes if its made poorly then it will fit even worse.
THAT'S what i've been trying to get across but getting flamed for it , but " hyper " seem's to think
fitting is not perfect and as you said - fiberglass
