can't wait to tackle this install,..I feel pretty confident about it.I've done more cutting on my old ITR than this will be!

| Mrfairlady | 03-21-2005 09:43 PM |
yep...there are Instructions on how to assemble it (obvious),..but theres like 3 Sites(Favorites) I've been studying everyday that show you step by step how to do it.Looks pretty simple!
I Put a Whole japanese Conversion on my ITR by my self and that was 10x's harder than this will be! Cutting involved in that COnversion was Unbelievable!!
it was like $380 shipped for the kit..(friend in Japan) but he forgot the Metal bracket to mount it..so I'll have to wait for that now.
I've wanted this thing ever since I saw it..and I absolutley Hate running the AC in cars.
The quality is awesome! Looks like it plastic(in pic's) but its metal!!!! came w/ all the parts in the orig packaging *Brand new* (w/ Part #'s) but for got the main peice.

My friend and I will probably tackle this ourselves....I've talkd to a few people that did theirs...ROB in Athens(GA) i was gonna get to do mine...or Pay a sunroof company to do it...but I've been tackling all types of things latley that I never thought I could do...so I'm feeling lucky!!
It mounts to stock locations so the hardest part is the cut itself which in reality can be ****ty because you won't even be ale to tell!
Theres no way you can really fudge it.as long as the holes on your car aren't RETARDED & the only defected Roof in Subaru history then your fine.Screw in the screws..and you'll see excatly what to do!It mounts the only way it can...drill the holes for the Hinges...drill 4 pilot hoes for marking and then make the Daddy Cut!! evrything else bolts up.
EVEN if the hole is not perfectly Straight or too big..you will not be able to tell from the inside or the outside. The Seal hides it and well..so does the Scoop lid.
I talk like I've done it...but it does look that easy! maybe cuz I've studied Every possible mess up and the Consiquenses (spl?),..That I would almost do it alone.
we'll see if I really have the balls when the metal bracket arrives

I actually went through a car wash with the vent up before ... and thankfully for the roofscoop, I had minimum water in my interior ...

lol.. unless you have your music real loud, I don't think anyone who has roof vent installed would forget to close it when you exceed 55mph

anyone in SoCal with one of these? i've seen these and have thought about getting one but am a little shaky on cutting my roof open and also not having the map lights. i might buy one if i knew someone in SoCal who had one and i saw it.

Flat4 (vendor here) has one,..but its missing some of the pop rivets that attach the inside cover to the metal bracket and its not NEw (but new price).
I have the part #'s right here for the POP pins(Colored) if you need em.
