Won BSP both days and was fastest car both days. Very happy with my setup, car is super neutral in the corners and does what you tell it to do. I love the azenis too.

Stock front bar, and perrin rear bar. I didnt take or host the pics, I mooched off the guy who did. I am at work so it would be a pain to save, shrink, then re-host. Maybe ill get a bigger front bar this summer.
Edit: they make a good wallpaper size :)

Big pics and the tallest slalom cones I've ever seen used. Definitely wouldn't want to hit one of those monsters; I've seen deer smaller than that.

Yeah, I apologized for the pics already.
And the slalom cones we use will DEFFINITELY leave a mark if you punt one. The kind that probably wont even buff right out. Who hits slalom cones anyway??? :p

You can open an account at photobucket (free), and then upload pics from URL (your buddy's pics) and then have photobucket resize them. It would take all of 2 minutes to do... just an FYI, the big pics don't bother me.
Also, those birch trees look really nice.

That looks to be Storyland in NH and the event was Cumberland Motor Club, right?
xrocket, I see you're from Mass... you might want to also check out http://www.ner.org Solo pages for events that are much closer. :)

Edit: Yeah, it was storyland, it was beautiful!!! 11 runs over 2 days! The second day I just put down a rediculous time. 45.2xx I believe I was the only sub 46 sec. car, maybethere was 1 other. and very few were below 47.
I lived in Maine last summer and competed with CMC. I was SM class points champ for the year :) and 3rd in PAX.
I have joined scca this year and will compete with NER. I was at the 1st event at NHIS in the RAIN. Got first in BSP.
I skipped Devins last weekend cause the 2-day event at storyland is awesome and I have a lot of friends in CMC.
NER appears to be unfriendly, extremely strict, and full of elitist pricks.
If I had known that before I dropped $75 on the SCCA, I would have traveled to all of CMC's, but oh well, Im gonna run all the NER's for the rest of the year and see how I do for points. I am also signed up for nationals at devins, I cant wait. Im an auto-x whore for sure :0

Oil on the course will give that impression when we need people out there helping to get things cleaned up so the event can continue. The more bodies, the better. Everyone needs to participate in that, and as you may have seen, simple requests for participants to come help speedy dry the course, and sweep the course, fell on many peoples idle ears. My arms were hurting for a few days after that event.
So yes, in that regard, it can be sort of a downer and appearances deceiving, especially when the 1st event in the year is not only hindered by oil, but by rain too.
Also, check your PMs. :)

I was the 6'5" guy who threw a 50 lb. bag of speedy dry on his shoulder, pulled my keys out of my pocket, stabbed the corner, and proceded to walk around the course speading a thin layer over the entire thing after we learned there was a bunch in the garage. My arm was tired, and after I walked back by the start with a very tired and sore arm, I saw the perpertrator laughing about how he spilled oil on the track as he worked on his car as others cleaned up his mess. I complained to others, and was informed that hes some big star driver. So what. I ALMOST worked up the balls to call him on it, but I didnt. I was spoken to at least 5 times for standing in the wrong spot, doing the wrong thing, etc. and a friend of mine was spoken to 9 times (he counted). I have been auto-xing for a few years now, and he has come watch me before, I know what im doing. It was an unfriendly, elitist atmosphere.
Edit: I also got the same impression when NER drivers came to CMC events. Some dude in a sm civic hatch came to an event and kept saying how it was a joke and there was no competiton. I whopped his ass, and got FTD, beating even the karts, which is a feat in itself, especially on a small, tight course. Cool guy didnt even stay for the awards. i think he was pretty butthurt.

Talking crap about people that you don't even know isn't cool.
I'm sure that the more you come to NER events, you will see that we aren't so bad :D

(And the driver at the time the hose decided to let go in the CM car happens not to be the car owner, and is on this forum... )
You may have caught him laughing at the car OWNER who that week before the event installed the wrong type of hose for the oil line. Dumb move, and something that can be laughed about between the two of them. Heck, even I find it funny, knowing the car owner.
I can also say this, no-one that has been doing these events for a while in NER would be laughing *at* making the people having to go out and do the speedy dry shuffle becuase something happened spilling oilk on the course. I know both the driver, and the owner, and they felt bad that it happened, and said as much, IIRC, on the Solo e-mail list apologizing for the mishap.
I think you may have witnessed one thing and applied it differently. You can laugh about self-caused mechanical failures. If you can't, you're in the wrong sport.. and I can say with 99% certanty, THAT is what they were laughing about, especially when the car owner used a hose that was not meant to be used as an oil line. (What good would it be to say "I'm sorry I broke my own car" and beat yourself up about it?) ;)

Laughing is fine, and I got the context of what they were saying.
I ask you this, did either the owner or the driver grab a broom, a bucket, or a bag of speedy dry?
Im not trying to come off as too pissy, I am positive some of it is my fault. I came from a small maine club where I knew everyone, and was respected as doing well, to a larger club where I dont know anyone, and everyone is from the big city. I am well aware every club has there bad apples. I look forward to racing, and I wouldn't let anyone else stop me from doing something I love. :)
And I didnt realize BSP had only one person :( I still put down a good time, even with my settings all off :) i believe I was 13 in pax, maybe 15th, somewhere around there.
And I only had one run in with someone who was cool, an Irish, I believe, guy with an sti that I could barely understand. The rest were pretty rude. Thats my reason for talking crap about people I dont know.
I guess Ive made enough enemies for now. Ill stop typing.

That's the complete opposite of my experience at the NESCC (NER) event this past weekend at Devens. This was the first and only event I have ever run up there. They had alot of drivers (140) and any of the staff I spoke with were always polite. The main guy (radio and flag) at my flagging station was actually doing his job. More than I've seen out of lots of other clubs lately.
Their Pro class was lots of fun and very competitive, and I'm sure they were wondering who the hell I was after morning runs (bsp evo ;) ). I had an absolute blast and even donated my own winnings to their charity. My other friends who made the drive also had a great time, including my brother who was only spectating and taking photos.
That said I will definitely be attending more of their events as it was well run and the lot is fantastic.

maybe it had more to do with the fact that it was 45 degrees, raining, the first event of the year, and I slept with 2 other dudes and a dog in a 3 person tent with no pillow, in the rain in a parking lot, in april....
Luckily I dont hold a grudge and will have an open mind at the next event at NHIS.
edit: I cant wait to run devins, Ive never been there, and I really cant wait to try it, I hear its totally different.
