I wanted to get the Boxer Rumble on my 2.5i...
and yes i searched and all i got was..."You cant because you have equal lenght headers"
Well, will headers off of a WRX fit a 2.5i? im guessing no, or else they wouldve just made it all like that no?
What would i need to get that boxer rumble, because right now my car sounds like a deep honda
So...I have the Tip, stock cat and everything, it sounds good but no rumble WHATSOEVER...im willing to go catless if itll give me a rumble of some sort....or just a better tone

Borla headers/high flow cat/ any cat-back exhaust!
since you don't seem to be too hung up on performance, but rather sound, this is the best sounding combo on a budget...

itll be a custom job without a doubt. buy someones headers and go to the nearest exhaust shop

Im such a noob, what do headers look like, and where do they go on subaru's. Because if its a custom job, this is probably going to take a while to do huh? this is my DD so i cant be out of a car for more than a day.
someone care to explain to me where headers go/what they look like because i want to learn, pics would be awesome.

headers are the exhaust pipes out of the engine. i am guessing the 99-05 parts dont fit....through out the years most rs parts fit on the newer models.

and with this, my stock muffler wont work? i would eventually get an aftermarket muffler but it adds up quick and i dont have tha tmuch to spend at once

yeah this should be moved to the na forum.
the borla headers are bolt ons, so you could just replace them and keep everything esle, but it would be fruitless if you still keep the stock cat.
dont the o7's have equal length headers already?

Horizontally opposed = boxer rumble

couple of hours to install but if you need to fabricate anything it will take a while, as in days.

Bzzzzt. The unequal length headers = boxer rumble. A horizontally opposed engine's only distinct noise is piston slap. Listen to some clips of an equal length header on an NA Subaru... it will sound like a Honda.
