Does Anyone Know what This is?
It looks like a big bracket to hold in that clip-plug thing. Im wondering, is that huge bracket really neccissary? I want to remove it so I can fit my large K & N filter on the end of my Weapon R intake pipe. I just want to know does it have any special purpose before I take it off and have something mess up.

That's the AWD control box. DO NOT take it out!

that may also be a grounding point

I've seen people take that out before with no problems...I think its just a bracket to hold the stock intake plumbing and a ground for the clip thingy...but I could be wrong...
I highly doubt thats the control box for the AWD...(is there such a thing?! not counting the diffs)...its just a piece of metal from what i remember....

The AWD conrol box? Oh yeah, right, its next to the rear flapper release valve and combustion analyser unit. LOL

I took mine off and mounted the sensor to the fender 1 inch from where it is stock. There is a threaded hole already for it and it is level.
I have had no problems.

Thanks Guys... Hey Dave, your car looks great! I got your email that said "thanks for everyone's help, the project is going nicely..." With the pic of your car in a garage with Killer 22B gold Wheels on it! It looks awesome. I think you should get the side skirts/rear skirts/front lip painted to match the body color though- that would look cool.
Any more detail on how you mounted the clip, using the hole?

Damn newbies, that is obviously the Flux Capacitor. DO NOT TOUCH IT!!!! It may make time travel impossible. You have been warned. McFlyyyy!

I was just kidding. That's actually the inhibition diffuser. It blocks the sanity of anyone who gets behind the wheel and causes them to drive like a maniac.

Isn't that the device to de-tune our engines in order to meet the N-American emission standards?

I dont know all. I think that it looks like what I put on my car for an after market part. Mine is actually chrome, and when I ordered it it was listed under "Chrome Plated Falopian Tube." I would check it out before removing it![img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/biggrin.gif[/img]

Seriously, though, if you look on inside of your hood, you will see a sticker with vaccum lines diagram. That "thing" is there, so check it out.

Like that guy in the Pep-Boys commercial says,
"Nah, that's just the differentialater. Completely unnecessary."

It's a fancypants bracket for mounting that thingy-with-wires and the little shock-absorbing intake mount. You can take it out. I've got my horns mounted to it, and I think my intake is going to get bolted to it too.

I think I read in the service manual that it's the front scrotovator.

You Scooby specialists are alllllllll wrong, that pieve of copper metal contrapment is the secret FHI part #288377738-swfj-1192383 that secretly stores 10HP (maybe 15HP if you have WRX) for sudden Scooby snacking adrenaline rushes for Civic/Integras. ;D
