STi front lip help

Well, my splitters are all busted up, and I was wondering what everyone thinks on replacing them. I will either get new OEM splitter and put the cf V limited repilca or a another aftermarket full lip. Anyone have suggestions?

Replace splitters and get the real STi ABS plastic V-Limited spoiler....don't put replica parts on the car. You payed for the better car, get the real stuff.

Yeah, but the carbon fiber is a little more resistant to the scraping(bending or breaking). The ABS will be bent up pretty easily. I go to school in Knoxville and the streets suck, and I'm running coilovers. The car is low, so its really easy to scrape on stuff even going slow.

In my opinion:
Option A: Replace splitters and go with an OEM lip.
Option B: Take the splitters off and get the Cusco lip.

Have you ever seen the lip? My buddy has it on his STi and that thing can take a beating. His car is low, and he has no problems with it when it scrapes. And ABS flexes pretty easily. So when your CF covered fiberglass replica lip breaks don't let me be the one to say told you so :D

Cusco = very expensive, but would be my first choice(it was actually designed to provide a small amount of downforce). That is the only drawback to it. As far as looks go, they are way back on my priority list, but I really don't like having broken splitters hanging down. I really can't justify spending $500 on a piece of plastic, and after adding that to the splitters, I could get the Cusco and have it painted. The CF looks almost the same(maybe even better IMO), but after looking into it that + the splitters would almost be $500. I think I'm going to go with the OEM lip if I can get a good deal on it.

get the JDM lip?

I like my CF V limited rep with the STI splitters. It really can take a beating. Although mine is not an exact replica and would look better if it were. Chargespeed is making an exact replica of the V lim in CF that looks great, but is about 500.

Take it from the V1 owner.. the thing isnt bullet proof!! i havent seen a replica (like the TRU) up close but I dont see how they can be much flimsier.

Hmmm. Decisions, descisions.

The image hosting is sponsored by pro-street online. Not the car. Its cheap advertising, they provide the image hosting, you post your picture, many people see their tags.
Unless you were being sarcastic :D

I remeber seeing a thread with some authentic v-limited torn in half! The thing isn't bulletproof. While the real deal maybe able to handle a little more abuse then the replica - there will be that day when i will scrape so badly nothing can save the lip. I'll take the money i saved from buying the replica and be able to pay for a new one. Replica it is for me....
Oh, and for the people that say buy the real deal cuz u bough an sti... its a little pice of plastic that goes on the front of the car.. big deal.. its not like its a replica turbo. The money saved can go towards much better things on the car and the differences are minimal.

You have to know how to drive a dropped car... I've been driving a car that has been drop for about 10 years now and it is just habits that I know where to drive where it is smooth and how far to pull up in a parking spot and stuff like that.... I'm not saying that you can go through a brick wall and the lip would be ok... I'm just saying if you know how to drive the car you should be o.k. I live in Norfolk VA and the roads here suck and I've had the lip for almost a year and it still looks like new.....
Here are some pic of the lip.....

I thought you were from VA Beach
But anyway, don't bother getting the real lip, its ABS plastic, the same crap plastic that everyone uses and its going to crack in half, I've seen it, but I'm from NYC, so I wanna see you learn to drive 10 years like that here.
+1 for what Focus4 said ;) its a plastic lip....... for god sakes just becuase it has an STi badge it makes it that much better huh.... i would prefer the CF

Thats the Damn truth,..I'm the same way.You have to "KNOW" how to drive a lowered car and you'll be fine.
Mine is Slammed w/ a V-Limited and its fine.Had it on for about 4 mths...and I've owned lower cars than this.
Good luck w/ fitment on the replica's.They are all made by the same MOLD and I've already heard of fitment issues w/ a few of them.
Owned a JDM STi lip replica and it didn't fit very good.anything you have to MAKE fit and shave here & there..is Not worth it to me.That lip and the JDM fogs (cutting the US Beam) taught me a Valuable lesson.
Nothing fits like OEM baby!
Thats the bottom line! :D

actually there are two molds. One is the s203 lip and the other the v-limited. The ones i have heard of fitment issues is the gruppe-s lip... I like the c/f look better IMHO.

I think I'm going to go with the cusco lip. I like the fact that less people have it, and it is somewhat functional.

The v-limited is an awesome lip. I just installed my espilir springs and if some one can post pics I'd like to show you what my v-limited now looks like.................in pieces!
