Absolutely insane idea!!!

Okay, I'm nowhere near being able to start my project yet, but that hasn't made me stop from planing it.
I have a 93L sedan, beat up and ugly at this point. It's my daily commuter now, all 3.5 miles.
Well, here's the idea for the exterior mods. 9-2x complete front facia swap, 04 Impreza rear facia swap. Okay, maybe not absolutely insane.
Know of anyone else who've done a similar project? Pics???
Let the jokes begin.
(I plan on interior & engine swaps too. I haven't figured out the interior yet. Maybe I should just save and buy a used STI and just swap the front. :D)

I see that I'm not the only one thinking about this, but then again they're talking about a late model WRX to 9-2x front end, not as loco as my idea.:disco:

2002 and up body panels do not fit 2001 and older models. So no.
| STiShawn | 10-26-2006 10:10 AM |
anything will fit with enough time, work and money
Go ahead and do it...it will be quite different and in the end you'll have a really expensive old car you can never sell for anythiing more then its base car value

Not bad lookin'. The only problems arise when you try to make a car something it's not. (i.e. I'm gonna make my civic RWD, I'm gonna mold WRX front end on my Focus, I'm gonna put a Viper motor in my 240sx[actaully kinda doable]) but you get my point. It's simple mathmatic.
Saab front end + old Subaru x parts cost + materials, labor, breaking stuff, jimmying, finagleing, jerry rigging, and shoe horning = -time, money, reliability to the Nth degree squared.
Unless your a pro body guy and steel fabricator, this is probobly going to = bad times. just my .02 cents.

I just like how the front wheels spinning so much faster then the back. I just can't get over it lol....
Well outside that if you got the money, time and passion to do it then have a go. Honostly looks good in a picture but who knows how good it'll look in person after all is said and done. I'd take some time to also look at fitment period- you never know if the frame is bigger then the bumper cover and would come out bent(i.e just bumper width, bumper to fender clearance, fender to door, hood, all of this has to be taken into consideration). Basicly don't make it looking like 90% of what a badly riced out civic with 4 different colors and body panels that obviously don't fit worth ****. If you honostly don't feel you can pull it off after taking all that into consideration, just put a nice motor/tranny/driveline and make it a sleeper.

DO an STi motor/drivetrain swap and then make the exterior look like this:

Keep the exterior stock. Put all your money into engine/trans/suspension. Don't make other people happy by seeing your car. Make yourself happy when driving the car

^^^ Something worth thinking about.

Spend that money on a v5 front end conversion, and a full STi swap, including the dash. You'll be much happier in the end.

Yup, that yellow one is a wagon.
