Not a fan of all the debadging, but very cool.

I dunno if its the photo angle/lighting, but it look slike you have black wheels... can hardly make them out. They could be steels wheels for all I can see, heh.
minx1225 09-15-2005 05:26 PM

They are black wheels... READ.. I'd like it better with Dupli-Color Graphite.. I did mine and it came out really nice!!
my05steye 09-16-2005 12:08 AM

i didn't like the graphite that much cause it was to light. If they had some sort of dark bronze then i would have done that but couldn't find anything. I actually went to a couple of kragens and pep boyss to find the paint. I bought a clear coat as well but never used it because i didn't want it to shine.

My custom painted TE37s are Duplicolor DM340, like very, very dark charcoal. I have a pic of it on my desktop, comes up just fine.

"...READ.." what sorta crap is that? Grow up, you tool.
Jeff B 09-16-2005 02:17 AM

Good job. I think that might be the best looking white STi I have seen.

The thread title even says black whe- WAIT. You SPRAYPAINTED 2500 dollar wheels instead of powdercoating, and HE'S a tool?

Pot, meet Kettle. ;)

Yes i spray painted my 2500 dollar wheels using duplicolor wheel paint. I guess its suppose to be some durable paint. I don't have a single scratch or chip or blemish on them yet. The reason I did not powdercoat them is to not loose the rigidity of the rim. Since they heat up the rim to high temperatures to coat the rim in a black color, i heard it weakens the rim. To me, this is much safer, cheaper and is very durable and looks great.
reedperformance 09-16-2005 03:59 PM

Okay I must be blind.I did not see a pic.

400ish degrees isn't all that hot, but I can sort of see the logic there, even if I'd have powdercoated them. Better safe than sorry, but better automotive paint and clearcoat than spraypaint. :)

well, it is "High performance Duplicolor Wheel paint". So its not just regular spray paint but is specifically made for your automobile wheel.

I love dark rims on pretty much any car. Wouldn't mind a polished lip to help give it a little more bling but your car looks good.
