Is your Headliner Dirty? You will thank me! part 1

Is your Headliner Dirty? You will thank me!
Ladies and Gentlemen I have made a revolutionary discovery that I would like to share amongst the Subie community first...

For the last 5 years my headliner has accumulated it's fair share of dirt from leaving my windows down, fingerprints, smudges and marks. I have been contemplating getting it re-upolstered, or figuring out some crazy way to clean it (steam-cleaner came to mind). People have suggested interor cleaner or 6:1 diluter Woolite/Water mixed. Well today I struck gold!

I cleaned the headliner to LIKE NEW condition so easily by just using my damp waffle weave microfiber drying towel (just dried my car with it) and rubbed whole headliner down. It's IMMACULATE! It's so easy to clean the whole roof area (including the oh-***** handles) by just wiping down with the damp waffle weave. Don't be afraid to apply some good pressure also (20lbs) to get out the deep fingerprints and other marks, they will come out. You will be AMAZED I promise!

BEWARE: Your waffle weave microfiber drying towel WILL get very dirty. I have not attempted to wash my towel yet but I *think* the dirt should come out as normal.

Guys, you have absolutely NO excuse now for a dirty headliner! NONE!!!

Thank you, thank you...

 :disco:  :disco:

Good call. You can use the woolite solution if you've got some stubborn stuff, but gentle pressure with a damn MF is the way to go. Keep a rinse bucket handy if it's really dirty and don't get the headliner WET... don't spray anything directly on the headliner... unless you want saggy headliner. :D

I'd be careful with any soaps as the damp waffle weave towel itself worked great, on some of the stubborn spots I just rubbed a little harder. I made sure to go over it in the same motion/evenly as if I was applying a wax. Doing this made the fibers of the headliner actually look better as well, like suede almost!

i shall try that.

It didn't even look that dirty, just a little dingy around the windows. It looks brand new now.
