Nice copy :D
Pity its not real.... :(
I know the company who make the original P1 stuff for the Subaru UK/Prodrive.
I can supply the address if you want it, but they wont sell direct to you, only via Prodrive.
Who cares if it is "real" what makes it "real".. as long as you like the look of it, then so what.
Looks good to me :)

Nice lip! What does it come with to attach to your bumper? Does it just bolt or do you have to bond it?

Whats so special about that lip? Is it because it has a litte "underbody" on it, for areodynamics? It's OK, but I've seen better.........
| adeck | 10-29-2001 01:37 PM |
Gooseman, how dare you insult the P1 lip!
| GooseMan | 10-29-2001 01:46 PM |
I know I know.....I'm sorry. :(
But seriously, look at it! its just a normal lip with three holes in the front!!!
But does the underbody part of it provide some kinda areodynamic properties or something?

I think thats why everybody likes it, it makes the car look a couple inches lower without adding that ricey look.

Prodrive can reply to this question!!! i think???

To answer a question earlier in the post...yes, the P1 lip does provide an aerodynamic benefit. However, what I'm not certain of (and Simon would have to answer), is if you really need to use it in conjunction with the P1 rear wing to get the most from it.
For those of you who don't know, the P1's aero-bits were designed by the guy who designed the McLaren F1 road car. Serious stuff, not fluffy bits!

That's correct. It's also a unique piece from Gordon Murray.

Nope, that's yet a different wing.
If you haven't seen it, here's a great comparison page, compiled by our own North Ursalia!

Actualy P1 rear spoiler is un obtainable... it has a plate on the side with the P1 logo... most resembles the Prodrive spoiler.
P1 lip I don't think the fog inserts are included as you'd need different spots and brackets.. they aren't just covers.
confirmed $489 from Tirerack.com just check Luke's "Prodrive Product List" post.
If you want a pic, find a P1, it is just like our car except for a few differences

Jon, I think Simon has confirmed that the price for the lip does include the fog inserts, but no lights or brackets. Apparently, they are (or will be) making the lights available through Tire Rack as well. At least I think I read that somewhere in one of these threads...

Hi Guys
Yes, the P1 lip is available through Tire Rack (as are all our parts)
The P1 rear wing will NOT be made available, it work in conjunction with an STi ver 5/6 lower half and as such would have a street price like about $1500...
The P1 parts were designed by Peter Stevens (he of the Big Mac) And they do have a aero effect, the P1 has downforce at 100mph - at it's max (around 168 - 170mph (true speed measured on GPS)) it runs arrow straight, screwed into the ground by the aero effect. At its max you could easily take your hands from the wheel :)
Cheers
Simon

so are the fog inserts included??? Guess I'll have to go dig through that post. If so then the price is a bit more reasonable.. except I really don't want smaller fogs.
EDIT: please point me to this post
I've manually be looking through posts and no where does Simon or Luke say that the fog inserts are included...
Please prove me wrong...
