Painted my stock badge

...pink.
Something to note, of all the write-ups I've read ppl where saying to use either a fine grit sandpaper, wetsand, or nail polish remover. Either of those methods would have taken 4x as long to remove the paint. The nail polish remover wasn't even doing a thing. I used a pretty rough sandpaper, 150grit, and it came off pretty quickly. It will look all hazy and scuffed when doing this, but once painted you cannot see the scuffing/hazing at all.

looks good!
if you start with 150 grit, just go over it finer sandpaper up to 600grit and itll be as smooth as stock! then paint it for perfection.
thats how i make these

remove the grill badge and sand the remaining rough edges of the pillar with 150, 200, 400, 600 and paint. it looks great!

Most people use a hair dryer to heat up badges when removing them. I suspect the same type of glue is used to hold the emblem together.

You dont take the badge apart, you just sand the paint off of the back. Then it becomes translucent so any color you apply on the back works. If you are talking about taking the badge off the grill, use something long and flat like a butter knife, not a screwdriver.

what type of paint did you use? Also, do you just paint the whole back of it? or do you have to paint around the chrome stars?

That is exactly what I did with mine! Except I haven't sanded down the rough part yet and painted it. What kind of paint did you use and did you clearcoat it or not? Looks great, I just need to finish mine I guess!
