Worthy car for motorsports?

Well i'm going around my neighborhood to find cheap cars to strip and beat the piss out of so I can leave my subaru to the everyday stuff.
I haven't done any research about this picturlar car but i am going to tonight.
Curious on your thoughts. I assume parts might be a pain. But well Drive it till its dead? IDK
What ya guys think. I would like a 2 door .

look for an older 240sx, those things are piss cheap and tons of OEM/aftermarket parts available

Good luck finding wheels... Those year pugs have wheels that basically only work on pugs and early model Subarus :p I have some pug 15's on my 78...

My favorite: '87 Merkur XR4Ti, bi-plane wing. Damn I loved that car, but a 400+ mile daily commute and one income wasn't going to cut it....sniff.

I heard there's this mystical place where the roads are straight, flat, and there's hardly any traffic making commutes like this doable, especially in areas of the country where living is cheaper, but the pay is excellent. :lol:

There is a group of guys that hillclimb the Peugeot's. They don't set the world on fire, but they have fun....and they've seemed pretty durable.

Personally I think it'd be awesome to have a Peugeot over here, but I don't know if it's the best motorsports car due to all of the issues already mentioned. I can definitely agree with the votes for an older 240sx. The only problem is most of the 240sx communities are very drift-oriented, which I get the feeling you're not looking for. It's been a few years since I had mine, but I remember freshalloy.com was one of the better technical related forums for nissans and 240s, so you might want to do some research there as well.

San Diego to Willow Springs area and back every day a few years ago, spent over 50% of my gross income in commuting. Project engineer for a construction contractor, modernization of a middle school up there. Sucked big time, sold the Merkur for a Suzuki Swift GT.....up to 42 mpg, but small and everything fell apart!!

Actually, parts were as close as the auto parts store, as they were built by Ford and shared most if not all standard Ford parts from the Mustang SVO and Thunderbird Turbo Coupe (2.3L Turbo engine/trans), the only Merkur-only parts were chassis and body parts, but they made quite a few sold in the States and in Europe as the Sierra, not exactly "rare". BATinc. in Florida also keeps funky parts in stock at a reasonable price :)

I was thinking more body panels, etc. I know that they shared an engine with the turbo mustangs. One of my friends has 3 XR4ti's and a couple sierras and I know he has trouble finding some parts.
Even if the parts aren't "rare", they are a lot harder to come by than 240sx or Miata parts.

It used to take me up to an hour just to go twenty miles when I lived in Jersey. And thats not even anything near the worst traffic possible.
My roommates commute back and forth to NJ from PA daily, like 60-70 miles, but takes like two hours or more and I can't even imagine dealing with that. Schuykill Expressway one of the worst corridors ever. x_x
