'04/'05 wagon owners part 1

yerrow 07-12-2005 04:11 PM

'04/'05 wagon owners
does anybody else want a front lip in either CF,fiberglass, or any other materials. I mean not the JDM one but something else thats made specifically for the wagons. i'd kill for a CF lip AND rear duck spoiler
corrie 07-12-2005 07:48 PM

i don't...but that's just me
proletariandan 07-12-2005 07:52 PM

i'd really like some kind of lip spoiler for under the rear window since the jdm/edm one costs $600+ shipped. i'm basically down for anything reasonably priced.
Dreamer 07-12-2005 08:58 PM

+1
i want a lip for the 04/05 wagaon really bad
i was so in to getting the sedan conv. done but dont have the money
WgnWheel 07-13-2005 12:44 AM

id love to see some choices for wagons! i ended up getting the jdm wagon lip..i'd like a cheaper waist spoiler offering...maybe even a cf option! or a cf version of the factory roof one.

I'm not sure what I'd do with a rear duck spoiler. I cannot even begin to imagine why one would keep a duck in the rear or get a spoiler for it -- sounds messy! ;)
It would be nice to see more lips available for wagons, but I guess the demand -- or at least a "critical mass" of demand -- isn't out there to be profitable for manufacturers. I will probably never drive fast enough for a lip to do me much good anyway.
samesk8r 07-13-2005 09:31 AM

I've been going nuts for an option for my wagon. I've seen like one thing designed for my wagon. I need some better options.
Tricky_D 07-13-2005 12:38 PM

+1 I'm definately in for a front lip for an 04 Wagon.
Hokie-wrx wagon 07-13-2005 12:46 PM

Eh... I've never been a big fan of aftermarket body kits/additions.
Bonefizz 07-13-2005 01:54 PM

Wagon owners are neglected when it comes to body kits, which is really stupid on the part of manufacturers. If someone would design a good looking lip specifically for the wagon, it would sell like gangbusters. The majority of WRX's sold are sedans, manufacturers only look at percentages of sales. A kit for the Wagon would be a niche market but there is money in niche markets! Are you listening manufacturers?

I guess it'd be some kind of robot that fed the duck too many treats and kept petting it constantly, so it became spoiled rotten.

:)
yerrow 07-13-2005 10:36 PM

i'm glad i'm not the only one...i'd be the 1st to put money down on it too
BIGSKYWRX 07-21-2005 11:15 PM

As much as I not a fan of the STi corner splitters- I'm considering fitting these just to have this lip :)

Why can't we have something like this for the wagon, build it we will come :D
matt the marauder 07-22-2005 01:14 AM

Pic of lip? I just got my 05 wagon about 6 hours ago.
BrysImpreza 07-22-2005 09:10 AM

I just made my own from a spec-C lip :D

Me too!!

And that lip looks great, BrysImpreza! ^^^^
BrysImpreza 07-22-2005 10:57 AM

The side pieces fit like a glove, the center section is too short. So my choice was either cut and patch the center or shape it to look sorta like STi side splitters. The angle is different and sad to admit almost looks like a Corolla S  , but whatever, no one else has done it and I think it looks good.

Just a little cut, shape out some endcaps with plastic, mould them in with plastic weld, paint and mount.
yerrow 07-22-2005 11:27 AM

see no offense to you and your car, but i just don't care for it. i'd rather have a full lip that is made specifically for the wagon

Me too, but spending $600 on the Euro or JDM wagon lip seems like a waste of $$$. So I did what I could with what I had.

It's not as if it really does much of anything. Maybe a little downforce at 120+ mph.

Plus I'm planning on putting a contoured bar on the front of the bumper between the "muttonchops" to attach some large offroad lights.
Cole 07-22-2005 04:31 PM

The Corzazon jdm front & rear bumper setup is ultra-hotness, but is $1700 unpainted. :furious:

i'd throw that exact setup on my wagon....
Jpapania 07-23-2005 01:43 AM

I agree the S203 lips looks great. Don't wagons represent a majority of sells for the World? I know the US Sedans sell to wagons something like 3 to 1, but I thought I heard that overall that ratio flips outside of the US. I just find it hard to belive a simple lips that fits is so hard to find.

That may be doable if your willing to add the splitters.

Here's a fellow D-Speed 2.5 who added the splitters w/ very little fuss

BIGSKYWRX 07-23-2005 02:56 PM

The 06 has a nice lip available (pic is on the sedan, but evidently available for wagon as well) maybe can be retrofitted?
