06 JDM Wagon Front Bumper on US 06

Thinking about putting this front bumper and fogs on my TR, how do you guys think it will look on the sedan? http://www.subaru.co.jp/impreza/index.html
| semaj | 05-17-2006 03:15 PM |
Kinda "SAAB-like" IMO...but props for being different! :D
| ommmjido | 05-17-2006 03:17 PM |
i believe the bumpers on the sedan and wagon r different.
| Sypher | 05-17-2006 03:23 PM |
Yeah they are, in Japan I believe the sedans front bumper is like the ones in the states. But the Wagons front bumper is yah know Flush and smooth and stuff..... Idk it just looks soooo smooth. I think with a lip, and maybe a diff grill it would look sick.

I think wagon bumpers wont fit a sedan b/c of the wider track is what he's sayin... Haven't heard if thats still true for 06's but def true of 02-05
| Sypher | 05-17-2006 03:27 PM |
oh, heck I didnt know that.
| black06wagon | 05-17-2006 03:38 PM |
that bumper looks Fresh.
the jdm wagons are 1.5l? ouch.

Personally, I don't think the smooth lines of the JDM wagon bumper/fogs match up with the sedan at all, which has the angular fender flares and rear section. I would go with the Syms grille/bumper before going with this on a TR. Just my opinion, though.

If yo do get it and it doesnt work out ill take it for my 06 wagon..
| Kaymin | 05-17-2006 07:50 PM |
if you want it to work you have to get the wagon fenders i believe

Yeah, did anyone else notice that?

Wow, I never noticed that before, I really like it a lot. I wonder if I would need to do anything to get it to fit on my '06 wagon. And I wonder how much that part costs.
Hmm... If I can come up with cash, I will buy it.

Is the sedan wider than the wagon? I assumed they were the same width but don't know for sure.

fenders flare more, atleast on all previous years

The only difference I know is the sedan has the little vents on the side if they really serve any purpose. The wagons don't have them. But I want them for my wagon. :D

I'm gonna guess that the original poster is referring to this bumper:

Looks like the one posted in #17 is the stock US wagon bumper.
EDIT:
I just found the 1.5l sedan (the base-model Impreza over there), and it also has the bumper I posted. However, the 1.5 Impreza doesn't have fender flares at all (wagon fenders on a sedan??), and it even has 02/03 taillights. If I could find a picture on their site, I would DEFINATELY post it...looks very Impreza L-like in it's economy styling.

Subaru Japan supplies these Bumpers in Color; a bolt-on as long as you get the Bumper beam, energy absorber and assorted hardware as a package
( which we can quote for )
HOWEVER; swapping the Wagon "Face" to the Sedan might require using the Wagon bumper back beam; dimensionally looks like a "Can Do"
If you want the price for this as a Kit; or just parts of this; let me know:
(1) Year/Model of your Unit
(2) Color/Color Code
(3) ZIP Code of your delivery address
PM or: [emailprotected]

Heck I think it looks smooth. Seems like alot to do though and expensive lol. So Ive forgotten about that idea. Now all I wanna do is change my grill. I have yet to see a decent modified grill for the 06's.
| dousbon | 05-19-2006 07:51 PM |
The bumper does looks business, executive. In a good way.

sorry to bring up an old thread, but anyone ever find a place to get that bumper? i was thinking of doing a full jdm conversion, including rims (but i think those are 15") :( and those rims i've seen on bugeye wagons up here in canada
| ghibli99 | 06-28-2006 03:15 PM |
^^^ Check w/ Japan Parts (they're a vendor here). Even if they might not have it listed on their site, they can source just about any part available overseas and get you a quote.

We can quote you to Canada for those parts; Front end conversion we've supplied and it's a bolt-on, the front Bumper face is supplied UNPAINTED, otherwise the conversion isn't that dramatic
East Canada; ( Newfoundland? )
The Bumper; with clips, back beam and brackets ( all hardware to install ) links:
