i was going to order that for awhile havent gotten around to it yet..buying cobb accessport and work emotions kinda put a dent in the wallet...put what i have heard is the only thing they have found wrong with the replica jdm lip is that the front part that is in the middle needs to have a piece of pipe put back there to straighten it out but other than that everything else is cool..maybe next month...soo broke
ps that is ordering from e-auto..from williams place he is a cool guy and reccomend him for your business..if you have any questions just pm him..

get the authentic JDM one. I had the replica and the wavy middle part was killing me. I'm having the authentic JDM one installed this saturday instead.

I have one,and the center section just needs some love from a heat gun when you test fit it. It will lay flat then. They just ge twisted in shipping.

It did the trick, but I'm a perfectionist and I still saw it. :( Anyway, I'm going to black it out again like I did with the replica.

Well that is some good advice. I had been using your car photos as my one bit of proof the replica was decent. If you are switching then i guess it's prolly not decent enough for me either. Im pretty picky.
Is it my imagin ation or did Gruppe-S raise the price on the JDM lip too? I thought it was $525. am i just remembering wrong?

So you're going to be unsatisfied only because he says he is unsatisfied?

It's hard to tell but this is one of the first pictures of the lip. The wave is very prominent.

after spending way too much time and effort to straighten it out, I just blacked it out so the wave was less visible, which I like MUCH more anyway since it makes the lip more aggressive IMO.

I would love to see someone here with the replica lip that has the middle part straight.

Not exactly.
I would be unsatisfied because I am really picky about the looks of my car, and if his genuine attempts to fix the waviness met with failure, it is likely mine would too. I have no experience fabricating car parts. Waviness is not something I would accept. It would bug me until I too gave up and paid for the genuine subaru lip. I had previously decided that this lip was already too much trouble from other user's accounts of it and several sets of photos that showed the waviness clearly... but then DieselClown put his on and seemed to have fixed the problem, which made me think 'Ok maybe something can be done with this lip, and i can save $300.' Anyhow I sold him a shift knob from our Legacy 2.5GT a while ago which resulted in me noticing his car and I liked the direction he was taking with his mods. I've been following them for a while. Since his was the only positive experience I had read about, in a sea of negative reviews (or photos in which *I* clearly see the wave) , and then it turns out that he is not happy either, I determined that I would have no better luck.
well u can put the metal and it will straighten it out im going to try the heat gun, did u heat gun it while it was on ur car???? or off ur car???
I heat gunned it while it was on, and in the 90 degree summer time. Actually, mine came from gruppe-s straight, it wasn;t until I put it on that I started seeing the waves. And thanks again MU5A5HI for the LGT knob and thanks for the comments. :) I'm really picky when it comes to my car and just couldn't deal with the waviness, even after I blacked it out. I'm not sure if newer replicas have that problem corrected but every single person I've asked about the replica have NOT gotten it completely straight so after all this time and effort, I just decided to get the real thing.

i just make it a point not to buy anything off ebay. sometimes its good others you get screwed. im just gonna buy my parts from a dealer and pay a lil more.

I bought the replica from gruppe-s and got it painted from them. The paint was peeling off around the area the wavyness occurs. It was going to be a pain to send it back, so they credited me for the paintwork. I took it to a shop and it was gonna cost a lot to strip off the old paint. So I researched products I could use to strip off the paint safely. I did that and ended up ruining the lip.
I then bought one from ebay, the e-auto place. I had it painted locally. First off it was a pain to fit the piece and certain areas had to be sanded down. i had to go to a body shop and get better double sided tape and a adhesive promoter. Then of course the metal bar had to be installed for the wavy part. The fit is decent right now but the paint is peeling on certain areas.
If anyone cares about fit and finish I would suggest the real JDM lip.
I need a silver one. If anyone knows where I can get one in stock from a place in the US, please let me know. Otherwise I'll proably just have to order it and wait 4-6 weeks.

Sorry, I got the (wrong) impression from your post and thought you meant you had already bought it, installed it and never thought ill of it until he said it was too wavy for his perfectionistic taste.

Does anyone know if there are there any non JDM lips like this that don't have that 'wav' problem? I like the lip but almost $600 seems kinda steep.

i havent heard of any that don't have the wave problem. it's fixable, it just takes extra work.
in the end the 600 is worth it imo.

^^I remember when you were helping me straighten mine. I was unlucky however, but I guess they do exist! Lucky guy! I forgot one thing, the part that tapes down right under the grill, on the right side, mine is slightly curved upwards and never tapes down to the car.

what middle part? the part that wraps around and is secured with double sided tape?
if so i would definitely not suggest cutting it off.
you need to get better tape and a adhesive promoter from an auto body supply shop.
