aftermarket wheel and cruise?

I'm interested in getting a smaller diameter, thicker aftermarket steering wheel (Sparco, Momo, Nardi, etc.). But I want to keep my cruise control.
Is it possible? Where did you re-mount the control? Pictures? Suggestions?

yah, i think it is possible as there is only 4 wires going to the switch module. but without taking part the module i could not
tell if there is a memory module on a PCB or if its just a straight
solenoid controller.
i have an aftermarket steering wheel, but since i only
use my car for close range fun driving on the weekends, i dont use the cruise control and threfore took it off.

How were you able to put the clock spring back in with the wheel hub??? On my Sparco hub and wheel, I can't use it.

There's nobody else who has an aftermarket steering wheel and cruise control, or at least some thoughts on how to make it work?

what about your airbag? :o

there is no way that you can use an aftermarket wheel WITH cruise...there is no place to a. mount the cruise stalk. and b. mount the clock spring that controls it all. PLUS. with an aftermarket wheel, you loose the horn, air bag, and turn signal release function. I don't know what subiegal is talking about.

you need to do some research...

ahhh but.... there is no airbag...
that was the point of putting the aftermarket wheel in in the first place... duuuuuh.......
i'll get detailed photos, but i'm really really busy this weekend.
i'll start a thread when they're up.

oh sorry oh god of mods would you care to enlighten us all with your infinate wisdom??
Subie Gal : I am really interested in how you were able to mount the cruise stalk in the hub. since its a bolt on affair and all..is the stalk protruding though the hub adapter?? how were you able to use the clock spring assembly with the hub?? plus, with all of the machining done to the hub, aren't you compromising structuale integrity??

hello again :)
i will tear it apart, take photos, and explain it to the best of my abilities :) the machined hub was done in the UK by a former acquantaince.... but i'm sure someone who'd competent enough can replicate the work that's been done.

You would do that, for me? I'm flattered.
Seriously though, if you're too busy or whatever it's no big deal, I was just trying to see how others have done it without sacrificing cruise control. (I had my last car for four years and it didn't have cruise, I hated that.)
Thanks again.
