best wax for subaru paint

I know "the best wax" can be a subjective issue. I used to be a meguiars fan on my black cars. I now have a white WRX 05 and was wondering which is the best wax product/s. I have used Rain-x liquid wax which is kinda new to market, which applies easy and they now have a nice spray wax companion product for in between details. I have been told that the meguiars over time makes lighter colors have a low tone yellow hue and they are better for darker colors. What do think of Rain-x for white or is some like Cal. Mothers Gold 3 step (precleaner, cleaner wax and carnuba) the better product. Suggestions and experiences appreciated.

^^werd. easiest wax to apply, great shine, average durability. a little on the pricey side though.

The Nano wax by Eagle One is pretty nice.

I use the new Turtle Wax Ultra Gloss paste wax. And the Eagle One was-as-you dry between waxes. Everyone tells me how clean my car looks. Nothing
seems to stick to the car. Even after it rains the car still looks clean.

I like Zaino, it doesn't shine as well as some other products, but you cant beat it for durability. (unless maybe you used Klasse) I care more about protection than shine, though...

Liquid Glass. Easy-on and easy-off. Very deep shine.

Average shine, superb durability, great for winter - Collinite 476s. Do a search on teh internet on it.

I love Zaino, but it just takes forever for it to apply, dry, and then remove. It also isn't one of the easiest waxes to remove. I have the NXT and I'm liking toward that since its so easy to apply and remove.

Klasse Twins (AIO & SG) topped w/ P21S Carnuba. Awesome deep, wet look from the carnuba and durability from the SG.

Klasse twins.
Before the klasse, polish with menzerma to remove "dealer swirls" a Porter cable 7424 is a must if you want to keep the wet look for years to come.
properautocare explains it better.

I used 1Z and it was so easy to apply and wipe off. Its not the shinny candy look but I dont care to wax more than a 3-4 times a year and this stuff apparently lasts through that. It snowed here a lot for a couple weeks, and then rains came. The car looks like it was washed, but I never touched it. :D

i've used NXT Tech wax for a little while. It does a great job.

try speed bead or bead max by stoner products... it's a spray on carnuba wax
we have a sponsorship with them, and used to use the products for that reason.... but it works awesome....people at the track used to come asking for it, after we handed it out...
their tarminator tar remover is great, as is their orange citrus cleaner...
pep boys carries it

Carnuba's great but it will wear off too quickly - especially with inclement weather.
I prefer a POLYMER SEALANT, as it lasts longer.
Also, I know there are Zaino fans around here, but I still swear by Meguiars #20.

Turtle Wax Platinum series works well for me.
| holland_patrick | 01-21-2005 10:38 PM |
there is a ton of debates and you can be on either side wax vs sealents I belive that you need to layer to get the best of both worlds. I have no problem placing more then one coat of anything on my car. I have aio and sg on my car as a base which will last longer with a wax topper which i can place over and over until the spring when I start all over again.

i use liqiud glass... i think it gives the best shine. i have been using it since i got my car and i love it.. i know a few people who use it on show cars and have been using it for years who swear by it. so far i am extremly happy with it.

zaino worked well but it was a pain in the ass to get wipe off again if it dried to fast.... but i just found a way to get around that, get some liquid easy on easy off turtle wax and spray it all over the dry part and it puts the most Shiny spot on your car you'll ever seen.... I'll take a pic of my car next time i wax it.

For ease of application and superior durability, use Einszett 1Z Glanz Wax. Just put it in a spray bottle, mist it on the applicator, and wipe it on. Finish the body panel (or even the whole car) and wipe it off.
It is shiny, but not glossy. Lasts for months, really. I actually look forward to the rain because I like seeing the water bead and fly off the hood like crazy.
You need to get it on-line, but a single bottle lasts forever.
I just wash the car with NXT Shampoo (great, cheap product), treat any bird crap or tar with Stoner's Tarminator, and then do the Glanz Wax. If you want it to look even glossier, put a carnuba on top. It won't last as long on its own, but on top of the Glanz Wax, you get the gloss and the protection.
P21S is an excellent wax to use on top.
Think I'll do this tomorrow morning...
