Birds! part 1

qoncept 05-24-2006 09:54 AM

Birds!
My driveway has a telephone line running directly over where I park my car and EVERY TIME I WASH IT, the birds hit it within a couple hours. I have a long driveway but I like parking it right there because the car is somewhat hidden and not readily visible from the street. But how do I get birds to stop crapping on it? Any suggestions?
hornyturbo 05-24-2006 09:58 AM

cut the line

tairese 05-24-2006 11:17 AM

I just don't park near trees anymore.
Pee_Sack 05-24-2006 11:18 AM

DEXSPTS 05-24-2006 11:51 AM

Can you adjust the line not to run over the driveway? Sometimes there is a little slack...
tasq 05-24-2006 11:59 AM

Doctor Murdock2 05-24-2006 12:01 PM

Get a plastic owl and put it in plain view of the area.
WRXDriftR 05-24-2006 12:37 PM

Beef Patty 05-24-2006 12:58 PM

ScoobyDoobieBlue 05-24-2006 01:00 PM

RudyR1999 05-24-2006 01:00 PM

vf22-wrx 05-24-2006 01:39 PM

the last one is as ugly as sin! haha

put a bunch of spikes on the line...like barbed wire x 10...heh heh damn birds

the cat thing wouldn't work...I have about 20 real cats within 100 feet of my house (not all mine) and there are tons of birds, luckily though I don't have to park under a wire...
Get a plastic owl and put it in plain view of the area.
yeah, thats what my neighbor did because every time he woudl wash his car the birds would sit on the phone lines and poop on it. seems to have worked, but then again he has like 2 owls and some other colored thing hanging in a tree, so i am not sure which piece did the job...
qoncept 05-24-2006 08:21 PM

I'd like to build a carport but it's not in the budget. I don't think I'd get a full return on the investment and we aren't planning on living in this house more than a few years :\ I'll look in to cats and owls.

nate49509 05-24-2006 08:35 PM

BB gun? A shotgun with birdshot of course.
darknightohio 05-24-2006 08:48 PM

Make sure you have wax on the car and use quick detailer and a microfiber towel to clean it off.
THEW0RX 05-24-2006 08:54 PM

you should put a bullseye on your roof, kind of like some mini coopers have. lol. Might as well make it interesting.
WRXDriftR 05-24-2006 08:57 PM

electricute the wire so it fries those things!

Yeah.. washing it off hasn't been a problem, but I don't want to do it every single day :\
