Should be reasonable since I will be doing this out of my home I figure a battery cover (real carbon twill on plain weave) will run aprox 30.00 . I plan on doing full door panels in carbon as well to get a similiar rally car look but I donnu if I have enough room to make alotof them. I will keep everyone posted and post pics this week. Please post any parts you would like to see.
Thanks,
john

i will take a battery cover if it will divert water from the hood vent away from my battery, and other electrical things near the battery.

Yeah I'd be interested in a CF battery cover and other bits as well for the WRX. Are we talking real CF or decaled plastic? What would the price ranges be?

NRG down in Australia does a lot of carbon fibre dressup, but no dealers in the US yet. They do have an email address on their website (www.nrgauto.com.au) if you're interested in DIY importing.

How about a Carbon Fiber Air Box that we can plumb our intake pipes into. The filter sits in the box and the box is fed air from the fender. I see that used in different cars at shows.

I am game! Does it fit the WRX trims and parts?

There is a little problem with this otherwise good idea, carbon fiber is conductive to electricity, we don't want the cover to short on the terminals and start a fire under the hood. [img]http://www.i-club.com/ubb-files/smilies/frown.gif[/img] Perhaps during the layup a non conductive insert could be placed over where the terminals are located, you know, just for safety.

I like the cold air intake box idea... Something Similar to BPM's carbon fiber intake box. That could get tricky though as you'd need to make an N/A version and then allow for modification for the Turbo guys (since they tipically have a different set-up).
I'd also be interested in a sheiled battery cover that is sloped on the top to drain water off of the battery. Then I could open the Drivers vent all the way.
Thanks,
Jon

Like Overtime said NRG in Australia are making quite a few CF dress up items. I just got a couple of Australian car mags and NRG had an add for battery covers and a fan belt cover. The fan belt cover looked very nice and would complement the battery cover.

Just wanna through an update up and get some feedback I already have some molds made next thing I was thinking of is trying to have a raised STI logo on the battery cover it should be able to be done fairly easy but any suggestions on other logos or designs would be appreciated and if you would prefer a raised logo or just flat.

Michigan RS,
Take a look at the forum about the "WRX upgrade kits" from SPO Motorsports/AVO in the WRX Non-Technical forum group. There are engine compartment pictures of two WRX's with stage I, II, and III upgrades that includes mechanical parts but they also contain a set of CF engine dress up parts. I see a fan belt cover, an air intake, and the electronics cover for right above the air box. Make a set like this and you will have a lot of customers!! AVO is not selling the CF parts seperate as of yet. I have inquired. If you can beat them to it you will have 'em lined up!
