Carbon fiber fenders for the GC8's? part 1

underground-mpyre 11-04-2005 06:48 PM

Carbon fiber fenders for the GC8's?
Do they make Carbon Fiber fenders for the GC8's? Also CF front bumpers and CF trunks? I want to repaint my car, but CF would make a great accent. I have only seen a Seibon hood for the GC8's do the make more and what styles? Thanks for any help.
poormansporsche 11-04-2005 07:26 PM

Seibon make bonnets and boots for the GC and GM impreza's and i think I saw some fenders but they might have been for the GD chassis, not sure. I would go that way. I wouldn't use it as my daily driver thats for sure. Paint over it if you get them. That'd be super L337. "Yeah I got carbon body panels, i just don't want it to look like a clown car" IMO that the true test of function before form. But I would only recommend it after you've done everything else. Like.... EVERYTHING.

cheers

You can paint the Carbon fiber tastefully. My car isn't a daily driver and yes everything has been done to it.

I would like some info on where to find the CF fenders?
thedaddyb 11-04-2005 08:15 PM

i've seen CF doors, but not any fenders for sale. you might have to have them custom made.

carbon creations
psyber_0ptix 11-05-2005 05:18 PM

carbon.....widebody?

:D
underground-mpyre 11-05-2005 08:25 PM

Yea, widebody not a bad idea. Where though?
psyber_0ptix 11-05-2005 09:42 PM

aeroism-research?
underground-mpyre 11-06-2005 07:10 PM

bump.
MyScoobie28 11-06-2005 07:14 PM

aeroism, a vendor here, is in the process of making a 22b widebody kit made of carbon. the project has been going on for years. maybe some new info will show up, maybe not, but i know that it will be a great finished product when it will be done. -Arthur

They have been "in the process" of making that kit for like 4 years dood... Don't hold your breath...
MyScoobie28 11-06-2005 10:50 PM

im not, but if anything comes up in the next few years, ill be happy. i don't even have a car yet (i'm 16) but if and when i get my impreza, and if that widebody kit comes out, ill be on the list for getting it. -Arthur

they were moving the oven to the new part of the shop on saturday. that can only be good news for people waiting for the widebody kit.

Yep !
I was there to lend a hand..... damn oven was heavy ~2k lbs , it took about 1 hour 5 of us to move it into the new space - Aerosim expanded by tripling its space - they recently leased new space that will be used for making the widebody parts

I've saw the molds, so basically all Steve needs to do is hire some CFiber workers and start making the parts..... now with the added space, the kit is closer to fruition. No way he could make parts with the cramped space he had. When he starts making the parts we need to convince him to make a wide body for the new WRX's
psyber_0ptix 11-07-2005 03:10 PM

but first things first....

there are more widebody wrx pieces than the gc. (thats more easily available)

:P

cant wait till its released.. then in maybe 3 years i can afford one, but at least it'll be out

thanks man! I leave Nov 17- My car will be waiting all alone *END HI-JACK* :D

Yeah- save up! nothing better looking than a widebody GC8 that looks like a 22B, damn I may just have to buy a GC8 !
psyber_0ptix 11-08-2005 07:31 AM

i honestly think i like the v5-6 bumper better though.

it looks more aggressive.

the 22b is just... smiling

but to each their own
underground-mpyre 11-08-2005 02:00 PM

Wouldn't it be nice to have a whole front end out of CF(front bumper, fenders hood), especially a 22B. But that is not what I am going for. Also get the rear bumber and trunk CF, would be nice too.
psyber_0ptix 11-08-2005 02:10 PM

aeroisms kit will be CARBON FIBER:

Front bumper
side skirts
front fenders
rear fenders
rear bumper

trunk is available CF already and matched with a CF hood, that'd be hot.

only rouble is since its a unibody, the fenders are going to be molded on. so its going to get painted over for the most part anyways.
underground-mpyre 11-08-2005 02:56 PM

I am not really looking for the rear fenders, usually do have to mold those. But the fronts are what I am looking for. Last time I checked most front fenders don't need to be molded.
psyber_0ptix 11-08-2005 02:59 PM

fronts bolt up, rear mold
underground-mpyre 11-09-2005 07:28 PM

Somone has to have a carbon fiber fender other than these guys?
underground-mpyre 11-11-2005 04:40 PM

bump?
R1Z4T 06-07-2013 07:30 PM

Bump!

After every panel for type r project..
sc00by4life 06-07-2013 08:35 PM

if you're after true weight savings, carbon isn't the way to go.

unless its single layer dry carbon, you'll be better off finding fiber glass or aluminum parts.
