Cleaning the inside of your windows
There's nothing that I dislike more than cleaning the inside of the windows - trying to, that is, just to smear around all the resin crap that gets on there.
Does anybody know of a quality product that works at getting rid of all the resin stuff that gets on the inside of the windows?
Any help appreciated...

common guys!, windex will kill your windows, especially tinted ones. GO buy a car specific product from trak auto for cleaning windows and buy some ultra fine steel wool (or something like it.) and use that to get the crap off. scrub lightly . It works like a charm. I'll try the newspaper on my older car but windex kills car windows:(

why dont we have any detail shops in iowa? i think its cuz we are so smart that we all know that we can do a better job ourselves then the detailers can, or its just because we in iowa are so technologicly behind the rest of the USA that we havnt adopted car detailers yet, im guessing its the latter of the two.

Apparhently (spelling), the ammonia in Windex breaks down the tint. Seems reasonable.
I use the Eagle One 20/20 cleaner, it's like 3-4 bucks a bottle, which isn't bad. Cleans really good too I might add. Safe for tints.
My $3.99.

This is the best and last product you will ever use for your windows, trust me, it will blow you away how good it is. Spray it on and then wipe it with newspaper.

huh?
newspaper? I dont get it! I SERIOUSLY need to clean the inside of my windsheild (no tint there), so using windex is what I planned on doing. I used to clean my saturn with streak free windex and paper towels. But why newspaper? do you scrunch it up, or fold it up neatly? doesnt it leave newsprint all over the place? I want to avoid streaks as much as possible, I hate a streaky windshield!

Newspaper does not streak, or leave lint......Lint is annoying..:D
| GooseMan | 08-27-2001 03:03 PM |
realllllyyyyy...........I'm gonna try this when I get home! Thanks!

Homeless people have always cleaned my windows w/ newspapers and it does work best. No streaks, no lint, and no print is left on the windows. Steve over at Suby Specialties used it on my car just this past Saturday.

If you have tinted windows do not use windex or any other product with alcohol, or is it amonia. Go to a local glass company, or a tint shop and get a bottle of nice, environment friendly, aerosol spray. And stop touching the inside of the windows! Everyone who rides in my car is amazed at the tint and HAS to touch it!

Do you wad the newspaper or fold it?
| Shinji N | 08-28-2001 02:31 AM |
ahhhh you must fold it into the shape of a crane which symbolizes peace and prosperity!!
No, I just wad it up.

Cool. Thanks for the input.
I think I'm trying the homebrew and newspaper. I'm really really sick of streaked crap on the inside of my windows.
That, and I put too much rainx on the outside which collects dirt and makes it really hard to clean. [sigh]
Anybody have any ideas on what to use to do a streak-free clean up on a heavily rainx'd windshield?

This is no joke, you can use coffee filters to clean your glass. they are totally lint free, streak free and dont tear either. Ive always used them, and they always work great. On our old civic , the grim would be so thick that it looked like the windows was tinted, and using eagle 20/20 and a coffee filter took it off no problem. Good luck!!
