Clear 2006 headlights (Tut or pictures)

Just looking to see some pictures and maybe a tutorial on how to clear out the 2006 headlights. I want to do this soon and was just looking for some information. If there is none for the 2006 I just might take some pics and make one myself. ;)

few guys on iwsti.com did it like esemes.... looks great
Same steps involved in any clearing of headlamps, remove the lamps, bake, pry apart, annd remove the orange :)
Remember that with the 06 you will have a large rectangular box on the corner of your lamps, which held the amber lens

Hummm.interesting. When you say Ill have a large rectangular box with the orange removed. Do you mean I will have a hole in the headlight.any close up pics of some cleared 06 headlights? I am going to check out iwsti.com right now

hmm... I think if that hole was filled with just a piece of plastic siliconed in, then all was sanded and some plastic filler (bondo) sanded in and all painted, it would be a nice solution and look veeerrrry clean.

sounds like alot of work..

too much trouble if you ask me. why not just paint over the orange instead of removing it? chrome paint would look right at home in a headlight.

I say just paint the orange, or just deal with the hole....and do make sure you get the sealent nice and sticky before you tighten it up one last time for a tight seal.
| d3v3u5 | 12-05-2005 01:47 AM |
very nice. i think it makes it stand out more. very clean very nice.

If you blacked them out it would be even sicker and the hole wouldnt show as much. Worth a try :)
| veightkiller | 12-05-2005 03:57 AM |
why not just paint the orange reflector into silver...so you dont have to worry about that hole..

If it really bothers you, buy the Euro lights.
Here are the UK ones, granted wrong pattern, but you get the idea.

just clear themn out, dont spend money on lights with the wrong pattern..

I don't think it looks that bad just leaving the amber side-reflector in there. if anything, maybe just a piece of tinting film would work to smoke it out or some vinyl?
The worst part about the MY04-MY05 is that triangular piece of amber right in the middle

JDM, and UK lamps are made for the left hand drivers meaning the left side of the specturn will be higher, thus blinding on coming traffic

All I meant is that I didn't think about the pattern until I grabbed the UK pic. I didn't want to go grab the german pic or anything like that.
If you want Euro lights just email some vendors to see if they can get them too ya. Someone has to have a hookup on that side of the water.
