Actually, this really puts a damper on the rest of the season. What's the point. Might as well pack up the bags and dust the rest of the season. What a dissapointment Mika was this year. Hopefully Williams will really make a good run and hope Toyota makes a big splash. Just cancel the race at Indy. It should have never gone there in the first place.
TimStevens 08-21-2001 07:57 AM

There's still a big fight for 2nd place in the championship (which nobody cares about), and 2nd place in constructors points is still up for grabs. Time for Williams to shine...

Toyota wont even make a ripple.
TimStevens 08-21-2001 08:37 AM

heh heh... have you heard the talk of removing the "107% rule" so that Toyota will be able to qualify next year?

Now that's the kind of pre-season publicity I'm sure Toyota was looking for! :D

You never know. McNish could have something up his sleeve
auricom 08-21-2001 02:10 PM

so is it possible that Ralf could take 2nd?
donjuan 08-21-2001 02:12 PM

RalF will take second. Right now he's 7 points out of second.
auricom 08-21-2001 02:18 PM

only 7, kick ass, as long as williams doesn't let idiot Juan take any leads

Keep in mind that Williams is also fighting for 2nd in constructors points, which would be more important to them than 2nd for Ralf. If JPM has a good car and can manage to keep it on the freaking course for once, Williams will favor whoever they feel has a better chance of scoring more points in whatever particular race...
donjuan 08-21-2001 02:22 PM

Maybe Sir Frank should hire and armed bodyguard to keep JPM away from chili-dogs unless he wins a race. Then you might see him scoring...

:D

I printed a copy after Subie Gal got in on it, in case she decided to delete it. Whenever I'm having a crappy day at work I grab that and read it and laugh my ass off.
J Colman 08-21-2001 03:09 PM

This is what I read when I need to be cheered up, I have a copy at my desk so I can just pick it up and read. Let me know what you think.

second in the constructors would be rad, but juan needs to stop whining. wish he'd go back to cart, it was great when button was with williams.
Fred Zaplitny 08-21-2001 07:25 PM

Montoya will win!!!!!

Oh, wait.....wrong thread!

Schumi should retire! Right now. Just hang it up. What more does he have to prove?

As for you chili dog bashing Montoya haters: You will feel the wrath of JPM next year!!!
auricom 08-22-2001 09:44 AM
You will feel the wrath of JPM next year!!!
dude thats hillarious, the wrath of what, actual tears. i just feel bad for Ralf
J Colman 08-22-2001 09:45 AM

JPM will do nothing but eat more Chillidogs
ChrisW 08-22-2001 04:29 PM

I liked Coultard comment. "maybe Micheal should take a vacation for the rest of the season."

but seriously, I think Barrachello will have second if he can qualify consistantly. Think of it. Now he has Shumi's full support in helping Barrachello getting second, and maintaining Ferarri's dominance in the constructors points.

Na, Coultard doesn't have a chance, ok, well maybe a small chance. He sure deserves better than third though.
TimStevens 08-22-2001 05:40 PM

Coulthard definitely has a chance... you think Schumi's going to pull over and let Barichello by, then spend his whole race keeping in front of DC? No way... would you? ;)

But, Ralphie definitely has a chance too, though I think it'll come down to Barichello and DC. It should be fun to watch them race while Sr. Schumacher goes flying off in the distance

Schumi's season has been awesome, not quite as dominant as his Benetton years, but a joy to watch, even if you aren't a fan.

I think that DC might be in trouble. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but three of the next four tracks (Monza, Spa and Indy) are horsepower tracks, and we all know how the Williams does when it comes to power. Reliability is another matter, but we'll see. The rest of the points battles should be interesting.

Rubens, Ralf, DC...we know who has the best teammate, and I wouldn't put it past Schumi Sr. to do it. Remember how he helped Irvine two seasons ago.

Kevin
J Colman 08-23-2001 08:34 AM

Schumi will help Rubens, that is the type of racer he is. He accepts defeat and success with the same dignity. Know that Rubens has helped him the whole year, he will pay back the favor, I guarantee it.
