Congratulations on your first win Subie Gal! ;-)

Well, it looks like Jamie isnt going to shout about her sucess so i will do it for her. ;)

Jamie took her first ever win in Open Class at the rallyX meeting this past weekend in her Impreza RS.

I make that a piece of RallyX history just made. The first ever female win.

Congratulations Jamie, great result. Congrats also on sticking with it and putting the effort in to learn a dificult skill. I wish i were there to see you achieve your first win myself. :D

Jamie also collected the base car that will be her rally weapon next year in Club Rally. Look out guys because there is a talented female driver about to kick your asses. :D

John,
Off-topic. FYI, the record for a bike around the 'ring is 7 minutes 49.71 seconds on a non-works RC-30 on street tyres. Six seconds quicker than any production car to date (EVO issue 34) So, if that fellow on the R1 had a little more bottle...

And yes, congrats to Jamie too.

Congratulations, Jaime. Everything coming together nicely now, eh? Ready to take the rally world by storm? I expect to be seeing you on speedvision shortly, and I know you wouldn't disappoint your fans :D
Sergeant_V 08-20-2001 10:49 PM

Yeah! Congratulations! Are you still thinking about a trip out west for the Prescott Forest Rally and RallyX?

That has to be the funiest thing i have seen written about Joerund ever!! He is 15 seconds a lap faster than me right now, he was holding back on the fast stuff to film me. I was quicker in the medium/slow stuff but i should be!

I met the outright bike record holder last trip over, we asked him if he fancied a lap out with me in the Atom and he said "hell no, it looks too dangerous!"

Now back on topic please.

Once again, Awesome stuff Jamie, really proud of you!
(i taught her everything she knows ;) hahaha)

Bump for the big win.
RallyNavvie 08-21-2001 06:24 PM

bring it on

I'll take you and your car! Grudge match of the sexes!

Hmm, or maybe not since I'm just a lowly co-driver who never really wants to be behind the wheel. Afterall, people behind the wheel are held responsible ;)

Congrats on the performance at the rally-x Jamie! Looking forward to seeing how you do next season. I will be in a different class however so no worries from our team. Doubt we'll even be competing in the same rally given we'll both probably stay close to home for the rallies we compete in.

Once everyone sees your name among some other well-known competitors you'll really start to get some attention. Do you really want more? :D

I'm curious, how fast were you going in those pictures and what is the typical speed for a rallyx course like that one?

I know when you're driving like that it is hard to pay attention to the speedo... more important things to worry about, but any estimate would do.

I'm trying to figure out exactly how crazy I'll have to be to start placing once I begin to enter official RallyX events (vs making my own courses in abandoned lots, logging roads, etc).

Right now I'm working on learning how to control the car safely so I'm not a menace to spectators. Of course I'm doing this on zero budget so I'm starting off slow.

Anyways, CONGRATS!
I'm curious, how fast were you going in those pictures and what is the typical speed for a rallyx course like that one?
in those pictures? probably 30-35mph....

our rallycrosses here in the NW are designed with driver control in mind... not speed. only one event have i ever gotten into 3rd gear, and that was for a short time...

our events are twisty, technical and require good car control... i have heard of other rallycross events where the speeds are highter and the course out of control. We dont do that here... we try to keep them tight, twisty - no matter how much everyone complains :D

this way you learn how to control your car off road, in the dirt!! :) safely, without being a menace to the spectators.... hehehee...

Jonathan 08-25-2001 11:39 PM

I am very much Imprezed. :)

Keep up the good work.

But please please give up on using steal rims.
Those are no good for you.
Lots of Subaru club racers at the Maine Forrest Rally were using Alloy Legacy "L" wheels last month.
You can paint those yellow as well, you know.

PS.

I hope you can sign my SUBARU Rally Team USA hat next year in Rumford, Maine.
MGXsport 08-26-2001 02:10 AM

Dang I wish I could be there to see it.

Very cool!

I can't wait to see you rally in the new lil' wagon.

Chris
Peter Hadfield 08-26-2001 09:56 PM

It's not a wagon, it's a sedan!
MGXsport 08-27-2001 12:04 AM

It's a sedan! I thought it was a Rally Wagon.

Cool Jamie! Congrats!!!!! Please welcome New"Michelle Mouton". Mike.
Subi Chica 08-27-2001 09:15 AM

Great minds think alike!

Further proof that a woman can be a knockout, care about her appearance and education, and still be mechanically inclined AND whip a man's butt on the race track!
We need more women like Jamie and Michele Mouton.
Subie Gal 08-27-2001 10:53 AM

yes we can!!! and thanks.... :)

Congrats Jamie!!!! You work damn hard and deserve that win.

Oh one other thing, I asked around after the race and a few of the vets tell me that its not that common to co-drive from the trunk. I think you may want to check that out before our next race. By the way, does anyone know a good chiropractor?

-Mel :)
Subie Gal 08-28-2001 11:15 AM
