First off I do not own, drive, or want a corolla. Not to say that they or other toyotas are bad -just not for me. Anywho- IMHO our WRX's and RS's deserve a better taillight treatment. Im almost sick at the thought of anybody putting on some of those Altezza style lights on their beautiful Subies- but you all must decide for yourselves . We all have to admit that the stock lights are pretty boring. I wish some one could make some tailamps like the new corolla has. They have a jeweled finish like its expensive cousin the RX300. The ones on it carry over to the trunklid which I think is lame but the rest is pretty cool. I also change the orange part to a different color-white or silverish.What do you think?

they look allright, much improved over OUR stock tailights, but they are still not for me. I hate the idea of altezzas, but would love some tailights that would darken up the rear of my black wrx. Those would be awesome if the lil' orange dot were frosty white or red and the rest rest tailights were tinted slightly.

i like the stock tailights on the wrx. They look pretty good. If you don't like them get the eyelids from japan for the rear. they change the loo alot.

Fair warning to the folks reading this thread- keep this thread on-topic. I will delete every single post that states anything even close to the effect of "I hate Altezzas" no questions asked ;). Trokita started a good thread here, and I'm sick seeing of useful threads degenerating like every Altezza thread of the past has. I now return you to our regularly scheduled thread :).

I find it humorous and I guess kinda sad that just mentioning that you like a certain car's taillights (or any other part) has to immediately be backed-up by saying something like "I do not want to own the car", and something like "all hail, subaru" or "the WRX is the bestest ever".

i totaly agree with TROKITA, and I think your wish might have been already granted actually. I remember seeing a prototype (atleast I THINK it was a prototype) of a jewelled rear lights for our beloved WRX (had to add in the "beloved" part, so the Scooby Nazis don't come after me). The light had the same color scheme/pattern as teh stock, just had the clear lens/ with fancy reflector. Looks sweet. I'll try finding the link, but it was from a UK site i believe.

i work for toyota...
so i see them everyday...they are pretty nice looking too, not much different from the old style, but definatly better than altezza's. i used to like em..but now seeing the chrome on the back of a red car doesnt lok right anymore..even with those little red disks floating in there.

na, I'm sorry but the MY02 tails look a lot better, IMO. I've always liked the rear of the car (and that's all anyone ever sees anyway :devil: ).
The only thing I would want changed, is giving us the JDM/UK projector lights.

i like the oem tails too! i thought the gc8 tails were blah but i thougt they did a good job on the gda tails.

yeah i like the way the GD8's look stock.....i like the fact that they already come red/clear....as for us GC8 owners, we have to settle for custom jobs...

I have a silver WRX. And I, personally, do not like the tail lights.

I do not have Type R stickers, etc.. on my car. I like a very clean, subtle, grown up looking car. The only other visual enhancements I have are painted side skirts. So please, don't go off on me!)

If you're looking for the jeweled finish, get the Red/White altezza taillights. There are (3) different types of Altezza taillights out for the 02+ Impreza.. the classic chrome style with red circle brake lights. Classic style but in black chrome. And the solid red bottom and solid white (more so like the OEM, but jeweled).. Maybe those are what you're looking for.

i think the black-chrome ones might look good on a black car, or a white car with a bunch of contrasting black parts (like mine).
the regular chrome style (that we generally think of as altezzas) i dont think look good at all... but thats only my opinion
i think those "jeweled" ones would look really good. id probably actually buy either those or the black ones if they made them for the wagon.

When the wrx first came out, I thought the stock tails looked like the tails of the toyota echo.
