do sparco seats bolt right in?
i was looking to install some sparco torinos and reapolster the back seats with some sparco covers, the question i have is will the torinos bolt right into my stock brackets, if not is there a quality reclinable seat that will?
Sal-Paradise 12-20-2003 05:28 AM

I'm pretty sure that Recaro sells rails specifically for their seats... I'd wait till morning, someone who knows for sure will reply by then. I'm 90% sure they don't fit on the stock seat rails though... leaving the 10% so I can cop out and say I wasn't sure if I'm wrong lol :D
Sparks 12-20-2003 08:32 AM

You'll need brackets from Wedge Engineering

kenchan 12-20-2003 11:06 PM

are those rails or seats height adjustable at all?

the last one i sat in, i felt like i needed a booster seat....
Davenow 12-21-2003 12:47 PM

sparco sells rails for the WRX.
Your factory seats do not have separate rails
tysonk 12-21-2003 10:19 PM

Hey I just got some sparco torinos also!

When i called sparco usa I got these part numbers for installation.

Base: 400SB010L(left)
400SB010R(right)

Slider: 00493

Hardware Nuts and Bolts: 500 01

So I have know idea why the parts numbers look so different but that's what the dude told me.

Now I have to find a decent online seller of these? Anyone Anyone?

Having 2 Sparco seats sitting in my garage is kinda wearing on me.
motorized 12-22-2003 03:10 AM

hey dcf03, if you could post some pics of your seats that would be great, for some reason i just like to see pics of seats i want. thanks for the info guys

p.s. what was the final cost with shipping and parts to install?
David Glasscock 01-17-2004 04:00 AM

FryRice 01-17-2004 06:47 AM

HA :D did you get the slider and bracket? i just finish mine... took my ass 3hr to figure it out :p The sparco instruction doesn't help at all!

BTW i'll post a pic what goes where tomorrow :D
FryRice 01-18-2004 01:55 AM

You need
13mm socket wrench
Long philp screw driver
1 3.3 ohm resistor <--- PM JayB for this

You have
4 long black hex bolt
4 flat head hex bolt
4 nylon lock nuts
4 silver bolt
4 lock washer

For the adjust seat bar, you must bend in to shape. I stick a long screw driver at the end of the bar, step on the side and pull on the screw driver to get the shape i want.

Sorry for the crappy pic... was on a rush ;)
David Glasscock 01-18-2004 03:07 AM

did your seats mount under the seat or on the side. they shipped me the same thing you have but my seats mount to the side.

ps.. thanks for the pics
oldmansan 01-18-2004 03:15 AM

I would suggest you
cut the airbag connector and directly wire the resistor(s). You can use 3, 10 ohm resistors in parallel as 3.3 ohm resistors are a little hard to find.

Side...??? Mine is mount under, what seat do you have?
David Glasscock 01-18-2004 12:36 PM

sparco corsa racing seats
FryRice 01-18-2004 05:52 PM

Did you get the side mounts?
Paulie 01-18-2004 06:24 PM

FryRice,

Exactly how much is "a little rub on the side piller"?

Does it rub on the piller itself or the thing that holds the seatbelt?

Does it interfere when reclining the seat forward/backward?

Would you mind taking a pic of the rubbing for me?

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Those seats look wonderful. Feel nice too. I sat in them at SEMA this year after realizing the Bride Ergo II's would be too narrow for just about anyone over the age of 14, he he he. The Sparco's are a little more friendly to most normal adult sized folks :)

FryRice,

No more than 1inch

Does it rub on the piller itself or the thing that holds the seatbelt?
pillar but just make squeaky sound.

Does it interfere when reclining the seat forward/backward?
NO, you can move it with no problem

Would you mind taking a pic of the rubbing for me?
Yes, tomorrow ;)

Thank you FryRice...I look forward to seeing the pics.

Do you know if the rubbing on the piller would interfere with the Sparco Harness Bar for use with their 3 inch seat belts? I think the bar mounts to the piller, but I'm not sure exactly high up.

Thanks again...

Sparco now has brackets that are flat mount eliminating the need for pn# 0500.

it doesn't touch the seat belt at all, only the black part of the pillar.

BTW i bought these seat from rallysportdirect, you can PM him or AIM him about anything :). They were also directly shipped from sparco in CA.
WorldRallyYellow 01-20-2004 10:24 PM

FYI, SPARCO has since changed the design of the WRX sliders and base, this is why you see different part numbers. The new design actually allows the seat to be lower as the old one had the seat sitting too high.
Paulie 01-20-2004 10:34 PM

FryRice,

Thank you so much for posting pics...

That isn't bad at all (the rubbing). They look great!!!

also it no longer requires the use of the 500 adapters.

the new seat bases are at a PERFECT height for the Reclining seats in an STi (just slightly lower then stock). I'm going to demo a set of EVO2's in a car sometimes soon aswell.

So after geting the sparco seat, does the "butt warmer" go away?
MB38 03-01-2004 06:29 PM

The butt warmer and side airbags go away.
hatchy 03-11-2004 11:35 AM

Does the new Sparco adapters fix the rubbing issue as well?
hatchy 03-13-2004 05:45 AM

bump
