Gauging interest... 04 Sti hood scoop to fit older Impreza

Fiberglass mold of the 2004 STi style hood scoop
but made to fit the older model imprezas...

To be frank and honest,
price of the scoop itself is an issue though :(

we have a supplier and can import them,
but not if the cost + freight is going to leave
them sitting on the shelf.

I really love the look of the new scoop. $200 plus $70 is a lot of clams though. I'd say $200 to $225 PAINTED would be just about right.

I agree $200 unpainted is to high. I'd say find someone state side to make them then sell them for a little more than the older STI scoops. I would buy the new style over the old if that were the case.

any idea on the height difference compared to the stock rs hood?
~200 isn't bad the other larger scoop for the rs is 134 unpainted. So depending on quality/increased size, price would be negotiable.

200 is a little high, but I do agree that this scoop matches the GC body lines very well. I would love one of these for my car, but alas 200 unpainted is a little steep.

Considering that you can get the old style STi scoops for $175 painted, $270 is on the far side of being realistic.
A moderate price increase for the novelty of sticking an '04 scoop on an '02/'03 is probably worth a slight markup, but not $100 worth.

i agree and that's why we've not bothered importing them...
MRT is rumored to be nearly finished with their attempt at this... with a retail price near $195 unpainted..... :(
the company i'm dealing with is not affiliated with MRT...
so that's 2 options... both at the same price range.
bit sad really.... but i'll keep searching for another option.

great idea but the 2004/sti hood scoop is a completely different dimension than the 2002/03 WRX hood scoop.
Not only is it taller etc. but its wider and longer...
the entire hood cutout differs from the previous Imprezas.

not 100% on the measurements
that scoop is the 2002/03 "sti" replica.
should retail around $124 us or $160-70ish painted.
what you have pictured there is not the 2004 Sti replica... :(

Are the Sti style scoops being made for the gc8 cars? I want to get a bigger scoop, maybe sti style for my soon to be turboed car. Anyone have info on this?

I went on to his website and i am not sure if those scoops are ment for our cars or not. He doesnt have any info on them stating what year cars they fit. Can anyone give me info?
