Grafix or No Grafix?
1 Attachment(s)
I took a pic of my car the other day, and was playing around with it on photoshop and decided to put grafixs on it. What are your opinions?
| Samirr76 | 07-15-2002 08:35 PM |
you know what....
it's not half bad...but its not half good either :p
at least it kinda goes with the unpainted front lip   :)

Thanks. I'm still deciding on whether to paint the carbon fiber or not? I just don't know
| Samirr76 | 07-15-2002 08:41 PM |
it owuld work better if your sideskirts were still unpainted (black)

I'd love to get carbon fiber side spats, but I don't think anyone makes them. Do you know if I can get them anywhere?
| ^jynx^ | 07-15-2002 09:19 PM |
looks like "mines" graphics
| Wrex Power | 07-15-2002 09:41 PM |
Is there anywhere I can buy Mines Grafixs?

It looks a lot like the Signal Auto stripe
| glilly | 07-16-2002 11:34 AM |
Underground Graphics can take care of your graphics needs. A similar stripe to what you have drawn should run about $75 for both sides. ...of course you'll have to find someone to install it.

Yeah, Those are Buddy Club P1 SF's, the cast ones. I would of got the QF's but I couldn't afford them.
| WRX Power | 07-16-2002 03:28 PM |
I like your color scheme...
BUT that stripe is SO played out, I see it on at least 10 cars at every show.... try something different.

I like it, it flows w/ the car. I think when people here of grafix they assume it's got to be rice.
| Wrex Power | 07-16-2002 04:11 PM |
WRX Power:
Thanks. I personally haven't seen this graphic that many times on other cars. Plus I'm from Pa. near Pittsburgh and I don't see many cars with graphics anyways.
DanD:
The more I look at it the more I like it. I know what you mean, I definetly don't think it's rice.
:p

Wrex Power,
Man, this is scary. I've been looking at the stripe on the Mines WRX for quite some time now, thinking of ways to do something similar, but slightly different at the same time.
What you have pictured there is almost identicel to what I came up with!!! My design isn't as wide though - it's a little wider than the Mines graphic job, but narrower than what you have pictured.
As far as graphics go on the WRX to begin with, I think the end result greatly depends on what the design is, and what the color scheme is from the start. It's funny, I'm not all that into "pinstripes", but I fell in love with the Mines WRX. I think it has to do with the color combo. I have a white WRX, with the same gold wheels as the Mines car, and the stripe being mostly silver with gold accent seems to blend the whole thing together pretty well. Having said that, I don't think the same graphic job would look nearly as good if it was a black car with a yellow stripe.
What you have pictured there looks very JDM. Having lived in Japan for 4 years, I've seen a lot of that style over there. I personally like it. It goes good with your setup.
That's what's so cool about the WRX. You can go from a JDM style, to a european style, to full blown rally style, and the car still looks quite attractive. It's very cool in that respect. You just have to keep with the "theme". That's where most people mess up, and other people wil call it "rice". I mean, if you have the JDM look (silver or white car, carbon hood, gun metal wheels), then it would be out of place wearing the Subaru WRC graphic livery. Same goes for the other way around. If you have a full blown rally car look, than it would look out of place with say, a carbon hood, and the Signal Auto stripe, so on...
I think as long as the graphics fit the theme of the car, and the color combo is chosen wisely, it won't look like "rice". Damn, I hate to even type that word, because using that word to describe something that looks like, well, ya know, just seems ridiculous.
Speaking of rediculous, I saw a Mustang GT with a Skyline "GTR" emblem on it today...now that looked out of place!

I just got my graphics done last week at Undergroud Graphics in Houston. glilly did an excellent job - more than $75 though. This is a good thing cause I don't want yall cop'n my $hit.
I say - create a graphic that goes with your own color scheme and idea of what you want your ride to b like. Then you r origional.

Ditto on that, if you like it, then to hell with what other people think. I think the Mines graphixs looks pretty good on your car.

Dont paint the WHOLE lip, just the outer sides in up till the line near the radiator opening. Hopefully you know what line I'm talking about. But more or less paint it to blend with the car, but still leave a little to let people know it's carbon.

I like the looks of the graphics they look pretty good!

Thanks Everyone.
Andrew and TygerStile: I'm just getting opinions for the hell of it. If I like it I'll do it. Trust me.
mitch808: I allready thought of that. Something along the lines of a Skyline. I might try to get my vinyl guy to wrap the edges as you mentioned in matching silver vinyl instead of paint tho.

Do you have a picture of yours or even a Mines car you could post, to see the difference?
