I'm out of the ProSolo hunt.

I got back from Cali to find out there's been some changes and some new stuff going down here at work that needs full attention. So looking at my schedule... I don't think that I'll be able to make the Pros I wanted to do. :( Since most Pro Solos require at least 3 days off for me to go to... with a few more to go so closely packed together... no can do.
Oh well. At least I got 2 in this year before things started changing. Better to have done 2 than to not have have done any at all. :D
Have fun guys!

Bummer!:( :(
I assume you're still going to catch a Tour event or two and come to Nationals? You still planning to terrorize the ponycars some in in ESP?
-Steve
p.s. Look at the bright side...I'll move up one spot in the standings!

Sorry to hear that Keith. If you decide to change your mind and need a car to run, we are always more than welcome.
Although you probably would not want to run it now, due to how badly it is running.

I'll probably make the DC tour. Thanks for the offer Billy I'll keep that in mind when I need a fix.

Keith,
Im sorry to hear about that. It was a lot of fun competing against you cause you seem like a real happy-go-lucky guy. Im sure you will still be going to the national finale right? Im looking forward to the big battle we all have there!

Nope, I won't have the points to be able to make it to the finale. Just nationals for me.

yea thats what i meant, the regular style national finale. I hope I don't scare anyone away really (I know you are in jest) It will suck to have to bump at the next couple events after having 10-12 drivers at San-bernadino.
| trhoppe | 03-18-2004 11:13 AM |
Damn keif! That sucks man. You might be able to do an arrive and drive with my car at a Pro, but we would have to discuss it ahead of time because of shawn codriving all year.
Josh: get your butt to an east coast or central event instead of the "weak" ;) west coast STX stuff. There is no STX bumping here!!

That IS too bad K.C. ... if you ever want to come to L.A. for an event ... you are welcome to share my wagon! I would love to see what you could do with my ride ...

You can even share my crappy apartment! :(
Not that it would matter to anyone ... but I too have to curtail my out-of-town events ... :furious:

KC - as you know, I am planning on going to Toledo. If you would like to co-drive, you are more than welcome to.... maybe by flying out/back you can get your 3 events in :).

Hmm.... I could always quit and open my own company....
That's always an option. :D
Thanks guys for the offers. But sometimes ya gotta do whatcha gotta do, ya know?

I wish I could be like Chiles and go to every-single-event. But unfortunately I can't retire yet (only 27) and like KC said, I don't own my own company. So I guess KC will be the only one who can truely guage our performance before nats.

Let me say this... if you drive like you did last weekend... it's going to be close. I would win by a second again... but since I'm not... I really don't know.
Sheeesh. Early prediction is my moneys on Tom once he gets his tranny... then you or Mike.. but all three of you within .1

If it came down like that, It would be awesome. Course I might have to get a shot of tranquilizer before my 3rd run too. :p

Condolences KC...
I do work for myself and still couldn't even go to the National Tour event that was 30 minutes away:mad: It's frustrating... since I've gotten back into the game all I have are distractions.
Good Luck

Is grooving legal? Actually the "rain" tires are a young second cousin to my KD's (to be absolutely clear as mud)

Shaving is, so why not grooving? We had this conversation last year at nationals. The KDW is a kickass rain tire, but I will take a full tread falken anyday :)

| Jsortor | 03-18-2004 08:22 PM |
Why do you like the falken in the rain so much? I would think there is still not enough grooving (without modification) to get rid of the water, or do you feel there is still actual grip with the wet pavement? KDW is not it either...... ;)

You had to see them in action at Nationals last year. The Falkens had a clear advantage over the MX's & KD's. I think the main reason the Falkens work so well in water is that they like being cold, and with water comes cooler tire temps. If there's LOTS of standing water, something like S-03's would likely work better - but you're probably talking about throwaway runs at that point anyway.

That's the truth. I remember Kiko taking OFF his S-03s and putting on his KDs between 2nd and 3rd run... and ran slower.
1) 64.874
2) 65.448
3) 68.093 (Changed to KD)

Quit work. Start a chain of Zaxby's in New England. Retire wealthy. Race more. Remeber who told you to do so, and buy me an Elise.

BTW, I bought SO3s for my rain tires/daily drivers this year. I'll give my feedback after the first rain event. To date I've raced full-tread MXs, half-tread MXs, and half-tread Falkens in the wet. Prelim street testing puts the SO3s out front, but I don't exactly drive in anger on the street. More info to come...

We'll be running 265/40/17 SO-3's for this year's One Lap of America. We'll be sure to post a review.

Ahhhhhh, no! That's the reason I CAN'T make several events this year, like Topeka this weekend. No one to call in sick to!
Plus, I had to threaten to fire myself if I kept dodging out of work for long race weekends more than twice a month... Think I've got myself pretty scared now...
