But, short of that, here are my picKs ;)
1. MS - return to form
2. DC - me being optimistic
3. JPM - will keep a spare rear wing on hand for the start
4. Kimi - won't have much to say in the post-race interview
5. Rubens - won't have much to say either
6. Ralph - will imagine the cars ahead of him are being driven by the media
7. Button - will claim he 0wn3d JV
8. Panis - fuel pump will fail again, but he'll push the car to the last points position ;)

1. MS (no way they're going to screw up again)
2. KR (I think Kimi likes the podium)
3. RS (paranoia does wonderful things to a driver)
4. RB (fine no. 2, but no match for fired up opponents, even at home)
5. DC (continuing his right place, right time habits)
6. JPM (this might seen low for him but I think he'll hose up at some point...sorry Fred Z.)
7. Frentzen (Sauber is due)
8. Alonso (the Renault is a good car, but horsepower deficient)
Meanwhile, check out AutoSport's latest.

Schu Jr gets Williams wake-up call
Ralf under pressure to perform on eve of Brazilian GP
Ralf is under pressure, according to newspaper reports
British tabloid newspaper, The Sun, has reported that Ralf Schumacher has been sent a letter from his bosses at the WilliamsF1 team telling him that they are not happy with his performances so far this year.
Schumacher has qualified poorly in the opening two grands prix of the season, but raced to points scoring finishes in both events, including a fourth place finish in Malaysia. He lies eighth in the world championship, however, while team-mate Juan Pablo Montoya is third.
Team principal Frank Williams and technical director Patrick Head are understood to have penned the letter, which says they feel that the German has not been driving to his full potential. Ralf went someway to answering his critics in testing in Barcelona last week when he topped the times on two of the four days.
Head, meanwhile, believes the team has made significant progress in recent weeks with its new FW25 chassis.
"What has really made a difference is a new front wing, which seems to work quite well," he said. "And for the first time we were running the new rear suspension that was always intended for the car, in place of the interim system we have had to use since the FW25 was launched. I think that Brazil should suit our car, and hopefully we will have a less bitty race than we had in Malaysia."

7. Button
8. Da Matta
I think JPM will cause a first corner accident taking himself and MS out (possibly others) to return the favor to Michael. Also, I think Toyota will finally put together a good race.

Connie Montoya apparently disapproves of Cora Schumachers dress sense. She reckons the former models clothes are far too revealing.

Qualifying madness...

Mark Webber! An excellent drive to be sure, but no way is the Jaguar that fast. The weather is going to raise cain with this race, I think. If it rains, Ferrari walks away, thanks to the Bridgestone intermediate (Michelin also brought an intermediate-type wet tire).
But the real question is what kind of chaos will ensue during a wet race?

I just thought that I'd quote myself, so that I can be the first to laugh at myself.  Webber qualified third? And he was actually up on Rubens until that final sector.
But again, the real question is fuel loads. It's a safe bet that Michael is off the pace, because he isn't slow enough to be running a one-stop race. He's going to have to pass Ralf, Trulli, Kimi and DC to even think about winning tomorrow. Frankly, I just don't see it happening.
Here's an interesting stat from the Speed Channel crew...once a decade or some such, a Brazilian wins at Interlagos. It's been that interval since a Brazilian last one, and there sits Rubens on pole. Could it be?
I see MS getting on the podium, but not winning. He'll lose too much time in the first part of the race, presuming that it doesn't rain. If it rains, he'll win in a walk as long as the car doesn't break.

Perhaps the most surprising thing is that the renowned rain-meister spun
off in the wet...
To carry this theme on, notice that none of us
picked Fisichella, Frentzen, Villeneuve, nor Webber.

Moved from my Pick 6 thread (can a moderator delete that one for me. I couldn't.)
Wow! I figured I did so bad this week that they didn't even send my standings, but I just got mine and was surprised.
quote:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Your pick for the Brazilian GP scored 31 points,
giving you a total score of 81.
This put you in position 400 for the round, and in
position 1938 (of 3743) in the overall competition.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
That brings me up more than 1000 places overall! Everyone must have figured it was Ferarri's time, and we were all wrong. What a weird race...
Hey, I'm happy. It's the only time I'll be at the top of the list OTG posted. I'm still next to the bottom on the team standings to date.

What's really cool, is that we are all moving up in the overall standings, even though none of us had a high score at Brazil.
Art Gecko noticed this already. Since it is early in the season, I wouldn't be surprised to see some of us get lucky and move up toward the top of the overall F1P6 heap. It is cool when you get on the first page of overall standings. Our own Lord Bass is already on it, and Fred Z is probably one good (or lucky) race away from being on it.

I kind of feel bad because I forgot to put my picks in on time, so it defaulted to my last picks and I ended up with a better result then I would have had if I used my list from the top of this thread.
Oh well. I guess that's just as strange as the race went.

Just finished watching the race on tape (in French from SRC in Quebec, since I don't have Speed anymore). An amazing race to watch. I hope Interlagos can fix the drainage problem - it'd be a shame to see Brazil dropped from the calendar in favor of yawn-infested tracks like the new Hockenheimring and the Hungaroring.
I had heard the end was 'dramatic', I'd say it was downright scary watching Alonso rip around the corner and smash into the tire and wall. Those few moments when three cars crashed on that corner were definitely among the most tense in my five years of watching F1. It's amazing what can happen in those moments when all control over the race is lost.
This is one of those races that will be talked about for years. Reminds me of Belgium 1998's huge first lap crash in the rain. Water certainly makes for a more interesting F1 race (a-la Nurburgring 1999, France 1999).
So far this year has been nothing short of the opposite of 2002, much for the better. Maybe I'll have to stop picking a Ferrari 1-2 for every race. :)
Cheers,
Chris

Cheers,
Chris

Since this is my first year in the Pick 6, what do they do now? Go back and adjust the standings? I would think so, but it doesn't say anything about it in the FAQ or rules. Looks like most of us would pick up one or two points based on where we had Kimi.
I looked at the F1 PP pick standings for the first time today. That's your expected final standings for the year. Wow! I'm in 27th place, and third in the US! I didn't see any of you guys on the list. Didn't anyone else get in on that one?

Yup! At this point, it appears to partially complete, because I'm seeing that the web page for our individual score will calculate the corrected score, but the group standings, and overall standings, amongst other things, reflect the scores from the incorrect finishing order. So we will wait... It is likely, that they'll wrestle the code into submission in another day or so.
I just did a quick calculation, and you and I each would pick up 10 more points w/the revised finishing order, so that you will have 41 points, and I'll have 40 points. But within our group, someone may do better than that, and win this round... I don't know.

I hate to admit, I've never done the F1 PP dealio... I'll have to check it out.

Whoa Ken! 17th place overall after 3 events! That's great!
We all got bumped, as you've surely noticed. I went from 400th to 147th this last event, which moved me up from 2900+ to 1565. Amazing.
But 17th! Wow! Way to go.
