WILL YOU GUYS GO TO THIS SITE AND CHECK OUT THE "CWS" STYLE BODY KIT FOR THE '02 WRX. IT IS THE SAME AS THE C-WEST BODY KIT, BUT SEEMS TO ME TO BE MUCH CHEAPER THAN OTHER PLACES. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THIS IS AUTHENTIC OR JUST A REPLICA?

Follow the saying 'you get what you pay for'
please do not rice your wrx.
get quality parts, and take the time to do them right (paint, etc).
To save money, just paint your stock side skirts, get a lip and a wing (if you really want one) and call it good.
look for reputable sites to buy from, to make sure you are in fact getting the real deal. but this goes for anything you buy online.
enjoy your car.. and drive safe.

I'M SORRY!!!!! Pardon the fact that my system here at work requires me to use caps lock to work properly, and it seems like nonsense, to me at least, to change it just to post something on this board. I didn't realize that it took that much more effort, or was that difficult, to read something in caps lock as opposed to regular style writing. But if it bothers people that much, i can probly manage to change it whenever i post something here.

You'll find that folks are more receptive to a post that's written with the reader in mind. CAPS are viewed as "yelling" in most forums.
btw, I agree with the others regarding the quality issues you'll most likely encounter by purchasing that item.

Well.......it's in the rules:
9. Absolutely no "elite" style (***, @@@, iMpReZa) or all caps writing is allowed anywhere on the message board, especially in the subject lines.
No one is getting "crazy" over this, but (now that you bring it up) I'm confused as to why people can't write/type correctly (I'm not talking about simple errors). A well written response/post goes a long way in helping to get your point across as well as establishing your credibility with other members. .......it's also a heck of a lot easier to read. ;)
.....just my thoughts.

i agree with you that " a well written response/post goes a long way in helping to get your point across as well as establishing your credibility with other members." personally, i dont have a problem with someone writing in CAPS, but i guess thats just me...... " to each his/her own" right?? it's just that with a program at work where i have to use CAPS, it's much easier to just get online and type away. whether that is correct or not, i'm not following you Kean. i used proper grammar and spelled correctly, except for "probly," so i'm not sure where you're goin with that comment. not tryin to be a smart-ass, just not sure what you're sayin.:-)

My response to Josh was a generalization of how some folks type on the forums (just a pet peeve). I don't want to turn your thread into an off-topic debate about grammatical skills. .....sorry for the detour. No offense intended.

Not everyone can afford the real stuff. I don't see why it bothers people so much. Just don't buy it for yourself.
I just find it funny that replica body parts and the people that buy them get kind of looked down upon, but there are just tons and tons of people on here with rota "replica" wheels and somehow that's ok.

I don't think anyone made a comment that "all" replica parts are bad (I'll have to re-read through the posts). I believe in this case he's better off looking for a dealer/manufacturer with a reputation. ....otherwise it's "buyer beware". You're right though.......if someone likes it on their own car, it doesn't matter what everyone else thinks.
Personally? .....I usually buy only brand name parts or none at all.

I have stock painted skirts and the front lip........ looks ok....... i would like to get the Ocari, sides and rear, Abs and cheap!!!!!!!

BUNNI, i think you're better off just reading these posts and not replying to them. and if you must reply to them, try not to make yourself look completely immature by posting a dumb-a$$ and smart-a$$ comment like you did. however long it took you to scroll between my comment and yours, in an attempt, i'm guessing, to be funny, was a waste of time. but thats just my honest opinion. take it for whats it's worth.

On the subject of replicas, I'm a guilty party. I bought the OEM front lip kit as a replica and am happy with it. However, I bought it knowing that
1. It would take a little more work to get it to fit right (fiberglass had to be filed down a bit and I had to modify the OEM template to make everything work.
2. It would be harder to prep/paint well (not a big deal, as the kit is three separate pieces, so you can take your time with each piece
3. If it broke/came apart, I was on my own (110 vs. 350 price tag pretty much took are of that one)
Of course, there are some horrible replicas out there, and as a rule of thumb, the bigger the piece is, the more likely you'll see the effects of cheap, uneven fiberglass. In the case of your C-West kit, I'd say stay away from it. I've seen a lot of cheap replicas on many different cars and it really ruins the look.

I have bought 3... count em', THREE, C-west lips so far.
They have either been hit by rocks on the highway, vandalized, or hit a curb(only one time!).
Anyway, I always buy the authentic one, because it's flexible. I don't know how many times I've bumped something, or a low driveway(my car is stock height). No matter how badly you tell yourself you'll be really carefull, you ALWAYS will bump something here or there.
Fitment on the authentic lip is good, but even with the flexibility, it's STILL hard to put in place. You really have to flex it quite a bit, and I can't see the fiberglass working too well putting it on like that, not to mention it doesn't flex at all...
It's worth the extra cash to get the REAL kit. You'll be happier in the long run. If you have to wait an extra pay check or two, the wait is worth it....
