:D :D

My brother practiced his welding techniques a few months back and actually made my stock USDM STi seat desireable! It works MUCH better when you're sitting still

vf22-wrx 04-04-2006 07:45 PM

Buffster19 04-04-2006 07:46 PM

hahaha thats awesome
kkam030 04-04-2006 07:48 PM

thats a $300 gaming seat!
eld4au6 04-04-2006 08:00 PM

i want to make a desk chair out of one
e11ys 04-04-2006 09:03 PM

I think that's the only place the USDM STI seat could be useful. Unless you are only out for good looks, there's no reason to replace your stock bugeye seats with those things. Unless you're 275-300 lbs., then you're good to go......

haha, couldn't have said it better myself:) :D

Save a couple of extra bucks and get yourself a Recaro SRD or some JDM STi seats. It's well worth it!!
dntouch 04-04-2006 10:11 PM

I have been wanting to do this also. Just been too lazy to do it.

They are for sale somewhere also. I cant remember the name of the place but they sell new for $500.00 to 1200.00 ..

Which is waaaaaay too much for my taste.

I love the kids chair also. Getting to know the apex before your 10 will help later in life for sure. At least thats what i tell my 7 year old.

Please for the love of god, don't do it! I tried it once, scraped them within a week to go back to the bugeye seats.
Hyper 04-04-2006 11:11 PM

pimp!
can I come by and play? :D
twizzstyle 04-04-2006 11:47 PM

Thats awesome!!!

I just picked up a welder last week, and I'm playing around with it learning so I can weld some stuff on my dune buggy.

I am designing a frame very similar to that, using a WRX seat from my old car. I measured coordinates of my seat mounts, steering wheel, pedals, shifter, etc in my actual car, and am building the frame to replicate this locations pretty closely (I am making my own shifter and doing a bit of wiring to move it from the wheel to the other location)

Modelling the whole thing in CAD, its pretty nice! :)
FLAT4motorsports 04-04-2006 11:52 PM

OMG.....did you hookup the side impact airbags too ?? LOL
gills 04-05-2006 08:22 AM
OMG.....did you hookup the side impact airbags too ?? LOL
heh, i might have to deploy them for the extra lateral support they might provide. even when sitting still!!
