it could be a fun little project...but honestly nobody is going to care enough to look at your splitters.

It's actually quite easy to do. Just mask off the surrounding areas of the "fangs" and spray away. It was easy to do for me and I like the look of them being black more than white...

Yeah, those are the "side strakes" and these on the hoodscoop are referred to as the "vertical strakes."

Do they actually perform a function on our cars? Or are they just bling? I know the 'side strakes' on high end cars actually help performance...it has something to do with aerodynamics, downforce, brake cooling, etc etc. something like that.

They are applied with double sided tape, so I doubt they have the strength to help with performance.

Are you asking about the side strakes or the hoodscoop ones? I think in both cases they are for cosmetic purposes ;)

I'm talking about the ones...say...on Ferraris, and MC12s and such. They're VASTLY different from the ones on our cars, but people still call them side strakes. They appear to serve a performance function, these types of cars aren't usually subject to much 'blingety bling bling'

I call them splitters... I kept them black because I decided to put a black mesh to cover the hoodscoop hole. In my opinion they look better black for my project.
