its polished and anodized not painted. There are tons of places that anodize parts, but make sure u polish the part till it looks like a mirror cause anodizing basically highlights all imperfections.
heres a quick google: http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize.html
only $41 for the kit, not bad.

this thread reminds me of the 24 karat gold alternators you could buy from stereo shops in the 90s.

That turbo looks sick!! We must learn to appreciate uniqueness and not always criticize something different.
Nice job
Nice job

Anodizing will hold up to the heat.

wow seems great but im not sure if its really worth it ... theres too much to do to my car before i do that anytime soon but i dont like the design but i like the fact he did it ... impressive id just get mine colored red or some jet color you know designs dont need to really be on a turbo to make it awesome ... its a turbo its awesome anyways

fugly as hell

I think it looks neat, but who's gonna see it? Aren't they supposed to have a big heat sheild around the turbo?
2 points for creativity, but I've heard that without the heat sheild, performance can suffer a bit.

I like it, I'm sure it'd win a few extra points at a show.
| vtecTHIS | 04-30-2004 04:48 PM |

| WizardGandoff | 05-01-2004 01:16 AM |

Is the compressor made out of aluminum? Maybe he is going to but just wanted to see if the anodizing job didn't interfer with the turbo mating up with the compressor. You don't have to be an ass...
I think it looks okay. I don't like the flames too much but it is unique. I wouldn't mind having mine anodized blue once I get all the hoses blue and the engine dressed up.
