I saw that KC and Tom Hoppe led the way in STX after Saturday (with KC leading.) Way to go, guys!
I can't wait to see the final results.

Final results are posted, looks like not much changed. KC clearly ahead of Tom, followed by Meade, Blume and Garfield. Congratulations!
So what's all that talk about wagons being slow? :p
Other Subie results: 10th Warrior on 10th place in GS (hey, that fits!). I think that's MNBiker on 6th in STX? That's all I can find.

 Congratulations, KC!
 Sorry, Tom. Hey, at least you beat STS...
And speaking of STS - nice driving, Billy Brooks, if you're on here. Nice change seeing most of those Civics behind a Subaru...

Good results all around. :)
What's with the CF in GS? On the west coast it was easy. Joe Goeke kicked my ass, end of story. The guys east of the divide can't seem to decide who wants it the most.
I can't wait to see the showdown between Sharp, Priebe, and Goeke.
Andrew <---- Still 4th in GS points

KC had a great drive! Congrats!
He nailed both sides, while I majorly sucked on the right. Had some car problems but mostly driver problems :) A 1.2 second difference between right and left sides is NOT acceptable at this level........
I was just saving it for Topeka though  I guess I will go with a header again and also another secret mod that I've been saving for a rainy day. Its more about making me *think* my car is faster then it actually being faster, but autox is so mental that it will help I think ;)
MNBiker also did well at his first Pro. Wasnt SUPER fast, but improved on sunday which is important and spanked the heck out of that one mini :)
10th Warrior on 10th place in GS (hey, that fits!).
heh, i would have prefered the 9th place for my number 9 but i couldn't hang on to it sunday morning with that stupid redlight. 18 starts that weekend, and the only one i blow was my fastest run  oh well, that was just practice for this coming weekend ;)
oh, and let me just say it wa really embarassing being paired up with Brian first heat. you just shouldn't loose that bad to a car in the same class ;) fun fight to see who was going to be DFL though
so, to recap, in my 2 pros, i've been spanked by G. H. and now Brian. can't wait til next weekend when i can be torn up even more by Goeke :D
and one of these days i'm going to beat Rich when he doesn't have a mechanical :furious: its getting closer. both our best right course times (which we both redlighted ) were within 0.2" of each other. i'm getting more comfortable with concrete and actually have some decent pressures now. maybe i'll get him in Topeka...

Yeah... I'm watching closely. This is where I get to see how badly I suck. I know how I compare to Joe (on a good day, I can run with him) and I want to see how Joe compares to the rest of the GS world.
So what pressures do you typically run on concrete? I've only ever had 6 weekends on concrete and I'm still mostly clueless. I'm running 225/50/16 Ecstas with KYB AGX's and varying amounts of rear toe. Wendover was the first time I really felt like I had it working, but I could not slalom with Joe. I'd come into the last slalom even with him and he'd wax me by the finish.

Tom & KC,
Thanks for your help last weekend. I had a blast! I was painfully slow, but it's my first year at autox and first ProSolo, so I was happy just to find my way to the starting line on time. I'm now officially hooked on ProSolo, and will definitely make it to several events next year.
KC, congrats for a great weekend of driving. It was fun watching you FINALLY beat Tom!
-Steve
p.s. BIG thanks to Garfield for bringing along a slow co-driver, so I could beat SOMEBODY!:p

Yeah, I had fun, of course. Even when I lose, I cannot say I didn't have fun.
Nice meeting 10th Warrior and MNBiker. Always fun to put a face to the (screen)name. :)
I was elminated 1st round of the challenge due to NO BRAKES on the hard left on the right side. Oh well, at least I got beat by Jr. :D
Tom, thanks for letting me drive your car... now I know what else I need to do before finale/nationals. ;)
Tom, thanks for letting me drive your car... now I know what else I need to do before finale/nationals
Hehe, new brake pads, new tires......anything else that youre going to do?
I'm definetly putting a header on, and doing either a front bar change or rear camber change (thread on honda-tech).
I'm a little weary of my "secret mod", but I have an idea that it might work. The car runs rich as hell right now. I've heard that an intake leans the car out......well I could definetly use a little leaning out. I have just heard other horrors about using a cold air intake, but the new ones seem to have the same diameter as the stock MAF housing.......
Oh yea, and the shaved KDs

same tires/shocks here. you probably don't want to take advice from me since A) I suck and B) this was only my second time ever on concrete. anyway, that being said, i started out running 48/55 but i found 48/57 worked better, although by the last run of a heat, the car was a little too loose *screech, thump thump* ;) what about you?

Heheheee... I did some 4-wheeling in Bremerton because I had the car way too loose on Saturday. I was trying to go from concrete (Wendover) to asphalt in just one week and didn't adjust quite enough. www.drivingsports.com (new national car mag - find it in Barnes and Noble starting this week) for some pictures of the dust.
I was pretty clean in Wendover. I did have some stability issues in the slalom from the massive amount of rear toe I was running. I could hang with Goeke until the slalom near the finish, then he just drove away. My pressures are usually around 48/40 on concrete. Different philosophy, I guess. Shrug.
Any thoughts Tom? Insane rear toe vs. insane rear tire pressures? Both? I could look into a bigger front bar. I'm only running a 20mm front bar.

i run some rear toe, but not THAT much  stock front bar/mounts too. when i was running lower pressures, the rears just weren't even being used. the fronts were wearing and the car would understeer quite a bit, but the rears looked brand new even after several events and just wouldn't break loose at all. the higher pressures have made the car much more managable. we'll see how it goes this weekend i guess.
| trhoppe | 08-13-2003 11:05 AM |
Well in D stock I ran almost 3/4" rear toe and also 60psi in the rear. The combination of both made the car nice and loose :)

3/4"
Tom must be a better driver than I am. I don't think I can manage more than about 5/8" and keep the car in line. Now if I ran 60psi in the rear tires, too... my wife would kill me when she drove the car. It would be way too loose for her.
So... what do you run on asphalt? If you say 3/4", I'm going to say WOWSA!

Asphalt I ran like 1/4" or so actually. The car was a LOT harder to get to handle right on concrete. Aaahhhh the good ol days. I guess I will be back in stock class if this whole STi thing comes through.....

Yeah... I've GOT to talk my friend into campaigning the car next year. Even if it costs me wheels + tires to do it.
I bet its easier to get an STi to handle on concrete. :D
