Don't do LIGHT yellow. Go with Type R yellow, or C5 Corvette yellow or Ferrari F355 yellow. Not Post-It note yellow like the WRX, please!

Best I can do on short notice...
How's this:

I vote for the real yellow colors, (Ferrai, Porsche, 'Vette, etc) like mentioned above. Not the Subaru "Blaze Yellow" as seen on the WRX and high performance Post-It Notes. If your gonna repaint then you really have your choice of colors, so make it a good one, 'specially one that you can't get an Impreza in. Trevorp can you do one in a bright yellow?

Yeah I agree with everyone else. If you're going to repaint the car into yellow don't choose the WRX yellow. No offense to yellow WRX owners but IMO it looks like the paint faded on it.
I say go with Ferrari Yellow. Did you get an estimate as to how much it's going to cost? I can't photoshop worth crap so here's a picture of a yellow Ferrari for reference.

Just selected all the silver parts of the car, then adjusted the colors for the selected area...
It was quick and dirty, but shows a yellow version of his car for him :)

What about a real subaru color, like STI yellow? None of this porsche or ferrari stuff.. :)
| Bob O | 07-02-2001 02:41 PM |
Mmmm...lemon-y fresh subaru. Actually I was thinking that bright but more yellow and less silvery/pearl. Closer to a Type R yellow.

I was always thinking about this one color. Its an emereld green they use on Dodge Ram trucks, it looks REAL dark green until the sun ort lights hit it and then WOW WEE so nice and sparkley!!! I always thought it was a very nice color. but of course it only helps torque being a color from a truck, where as yellow adds horsepower throughout the powerband.

Hmm, there is no real color code for that yellow.
All I did was select all of the silver parts of his car in PhotoShop, then I adjusted the color values for the selected area. I drove the yellow midtones all the way up, and the highlights about a quarter of the way up to make the first yellow version, then I did pretty much the same thing again to the first yellow one to make the second one.
No painting or filling, so I can't tell you what color yellow it is. I guess you could call it "trevorp pearlescent yellow" :D

thats a winner
actually it looks really good in that color.

I agree, that last yellow looks quite nice.
I was gonna rant that the silver looks just peachy and not to touch it, but if you can get that F355 yellow going on, that would look quite nice.

I 2nd that, that orange color is really cool. I dunno, I think attention grabbing colors are really cool. The thing I don't like is the pastel color movement in the ****er community. But, to each his own. I like my WRB :)

OMG, Icy hot!! Beware you go to far and Andy will become one of the Icy Hot Stuntaz if his colors get too outta control :D

Seriously tho, i really liked the first yellow, the 2nd was too bright/highlighter colored. The third italian racing yellow was nice but doesn't really fit the Subie IMHO.. Great photoshoppin job tho =)

My Yello Ride...
Good luck! I just painted my car Dakkar Yellow (off of the BMW yellows.) I used the Eurethane paint rather than the enamel/clearcoat system.
I had it back one day from the body shop and had to get it all muddy at the rally-x. :D
