Puma Speedcats on sale at Footlocker part 1

Puma Speedcats on sale at Footlocker
In case anyone was looking to pick up a pair, they are currently marked down from $75 to $59. I don't know if this is consistent with every Foot Locker, but thought I would pass along the savings as I just picked up a pair myself. :D

They don't appear to be on sale on the Footlocker website -

They were on sale for $59 at a Footlocker over here. There was a 30%-off coupon for this past weekend, too. I'm not a fan of the narrow tread of the Speedcats though. :(

They were on sale in the store. Again, it may not be a national sale so call your local foot locker first if you are planning to pick up a pair. I was surprised by the sale myself.

Called three stores... one only had ladies, one had them on sale but only Navy in stock, and the last said they weren't on sale.

If they are on sale, any one of the stores can order them for you and they will even ship them to your home or work free of charge. I ordered mine and they are supposed to be here in a few days.

puma outlets generally have the odd ball colors for like 29 dollars or less. I got a pair of grey and light greys for 19 bucks. i was tempted to get an olive pair but not quite my size.

They are listed under the motorsports section of the Puma online store, so even though they have a specific tag saying "not flameproof," I'm thinking they are indeed supposed to be a driving shoe. They are thin soled, and don't seem to be designed for a lot of walking around (exactly what I was looking for).

Ben
They are a great driving shoe, but not very good for walking/running. The rounded sole is nice for switching pedals, but I've nearly twisted my ankle a couple times trying to run in them.

Sorry Karen, I had to :p :o

got mine in black. i like it. don't walk on them too much. not very supportive in the arch area of your foot. just drive on them.

No problem. I got mine in the mail today at work. I cannot wait to try them out on the way home with a little heel and toe action. I guess I am getting a little anxious for the track days to begin around here. :D

Macy's @ Amazon (amazon.com) has them for $59.99 also. How do these shoes run sizewise? I wear an 11 in Nike's.

I found them to be very narrow.
pio!pio! 04-06-2006 02:33 AM

very very narrow

any shoes like the speedcat's but wider?
davis10 04-06-2006 12:20 PM

I love using driving shoes, makes toe heel so much easier. If you get the leather ones they are narrow, but will streach to fit your foot, I used to have to do this with my soccer shoes, put them in water then wear them till they are dry, you may want to do this a few times. Some people where them in the shower too.

Puma's are just too narrow period...I can't even fit my foot into there street shoes
ein86 04-06-2006 11:49 PM

the footlocker here had the navy ones @ $49....but the bastards were too lazy to help me. so i went to another store and had them price match it...plus the other sale they had going on, i got the shoes for ~$42.

i dont know if i like them...too narrow for my driving style. the first time i drove in them, my toe slipped off the brake pedal while heel/toeing it into a turn....scared the crap out of me. i realized later that i wasnt even getting the tread of the shoe on the brake pedal because its so narrow; i was actually hitting the pedal with the suede part of the shoe on the side. im not sure i wanna keep these shoes now..... :(
