Way to go Josh! He won STX.
There really aren't many of them 'Scobaruus' out that way that auto-x, huh?
Looks like SM is Spec M3. :D

Why was there an M3 running in SM2?

Cause they can ;). If I saw Tunnel running in SM I'd jump ship to SM2 as well!
Personally, I wanted to see some A-Stock STis kickin' butt. Really just looking for affirmation that I'm not gonna get completely trounced in DC come may.

The coolest result I saw was someone winning H-Stock in a 1995 Audi Quattro 90, over the Minis.
The AS winner beat all the SS cars in an 89 Corvette.
Bob Tunnell is going to make the SM index go up again. If he would have had a clean third run on the first day, the only cars that would have beaten him were 2 ASP entries.

Bob is an amazing driver. The competition is so tough in the National events... it was depressing for me out there. I felt like I just got my driver's license.

Great job beating on those Bimmers, Josh!
What's up with the lack of Scooby participation in San Diego? Only 1 WRX in STX, and he drove over from AZ?

Looks like imitation didn't help anyone drive as fast as Bob.;)

If they weren't completely impractical for anything other than motorsports, cruising, or mountain/canyon runs, I'd own one. Hell, the wife even likes 'em.
From what I understand, they are not ridiculously expensive, either.
And, to be different...I'd have them fab me up a hardtop. :disco:
Scott
EDIT: actually, instead of the hardtop, I'd just buy this.

Any M3 with a motor over 3 liters and with aftermarket forced induction is sent to SM2. Take one '97 M3, add a Dinan supercharger, and you're in SM2. Not saying that's what happened here, but it's not uncommon to see supercharged late model M3s.

Sure, maybe in dry weather -- the same M3 that won SM in San Diego barely snuck into the last trophy spot in the rain in Atlanta. (Granted, that might have been different with Bob driving...)

-Tom [/B][/QUOTE]
that was a tough course for the scooby's to run with the civics on. the big huge sweeping turns followed by longish straights favored lots of grip and not a lot of weight much more then horsepower. easily half of the corners were severely off camber and half of those were right handers too.
and of course, everyone knows that if you really want to go fast, you gotta drive a honda. :D

KC,
I'm thinking about building an FFR Roadster this Winter as a track & autox car. I'll probably come out & take a tour at FFR, before committing. Wanna tag along?
-Steve
p.s. Looks like it will cost about $27K to build up a competitive AP car with a 370hp 302. Not bad, for 0-60 in 4 seconds, 12 second 1/4 mile & >1G cornering.
