is there a way to get a factory rear windshield wiper on an 03 sedan?

As far as I know you have to get the JDM glass and rear wiper. Its gonna cost big bucks.

It's funny how people with cars that have rear wipers stock usually pay money to shave them off to get the "clean look," and we pay money to import parts that allow us to add an extra wiper on :P

It is funny. People just want to be different, which I believe is a good thing.
Good luck (seriously, no sarcasm) on finding your wiper.

There was a really long thread on this last week. A guy got one from Japan through Vivd I think. Looked damn good. Would have been easier (and cheaper) to get a wagon though ;)

Shame we can't get headlight wipers.... they're boss man. Ever so useful to clear away that non-transparent rain.

There's a guy from WA that bought everything that he needed from vivid for under $700, which is an amazing deal. He posted photos of the car after the install and it looked pretty good, I just can't remember his name? Do a search or just give vivid a call to see if they have anymore JDM STI's that they are dismantling. Good luck!

sweet. need4mods seems to be the one who did the wiper mod. it looks nice, not too goofy imho. i'd use it more in the winter time for all the snow. a lot of it blows off the roof onto the glass and i'd rather not scratch the paint with a snow removal brush. besides every car i've had with a rear wiper, i never wished i had one.

I got one. $650 shipped. Check with Chaste auto or King Pin performance. I ned to talk to need4 mods I guess I havn't wired mine up yet. It's on its way still.

Those who have the wiper on there sedan come forward. We need answers!
PS- I talked to Mike at King Pin and he might be getting in one next week. Chaste auto can get new glass but they are trying to get a better price on the wiper. Their stuff is new. Talk to jeff. Email is [emailprotected] auto.com

Dan at Four Star Motorsports has the window for $600 CDN ($448 US) and the wiper at $195 CDN $145.75 US

still alot of $$ to add a wiper that doesn't make that much of a difference. How often have you been in a close situation because the rain on the back windshield was too much????

The rain sits right in the center of my back window and forms some circular pattern. I can see lights but its hard to see what shape or even sometime how many. My 20% tint doesn't help either. Plus it's a nice JDM mod. It it's more functional than a cluster or other interior piece. I can add my own shift light. I like to see the shape of the lights becuase out here the Hwy Patrol runs unmarked volvo station wagons, suburbans, camaros. We have some of the worst traffic in the country. It also has the radio antenna built in so I can shave my front antenna. Where I live it rains like 3 days or more a week.

Well it arrived all in one piece. Now I need to get a wagon wiper control and maybe a different or another washer resivor so I can make the rear squirter work. The wiper unit bolts in easily. Looks simple. Wiring my be a pain but I have the tech manuals and a buddy with a wagon.

it8ezbngrn -- try rain-x should help get some of the water off, and how much did this thing cost?
| it8ezbngrn | 02-08-2004 11:37 PM |
$550 + $100shipping + whatever a wagons wiper switch will cost + price of someone put the windshield in. I can wire it but I don't trust myself to pull the stock one out and mount the new one in.
It is also about as thin as a side window. It comes with factory tint.

The mods section here is now just a link to Scoobymods.com. Kastle, myself, Peaty, Aaron, or even yourself can post it over there if you like :). I will be documenting my install whenever I can afford to have the glass put in :).

I just put the glass in. Looks great. Cost me $80 @ South Tacoma Glass. The wiper unit bolts from the trunk up easily. I will take some pics. Tomorrow I install the wiper. I have to find a 02 -03 wiper switch from a wrecking yard or buy from a dealer to begin the wiring process. I will also have to fabricate a washer bottle or modifiy the one I have now. Basicaly, tap into the side and use a seperate pump and run tubing all the way to the rear. Thanks for the link. I will document it and post there when finished.

May have been mine. I bought it there about two weeks ago. I just posted on scooby mods on how to wire it up. Easy. Wiper unit 3 wires. Make sure that the relay is included with the wiper set up. There is a gray relay on the wire harness. I have pic if needed. Also you can wire it to a wagons wiper switch. I R&R'd my switch with a wagons. Cut 2 wires, spliced one and ran them to the wiper unit. It's really easy. Sedans have the wires for it. Where it ends up I don't know so I made my connections at the switch. Now I have to find a washer bottle. May go to a pulla\ a part junk yard and find something.
