Smoked Tail Lights

personally, I dont care for them as they would result in my getting pulled over :lol:
the stater's here in WA will pull you and they will ticket you for these things

i did mine myself on my old car with model car tint paint. i like the look, but it has to coordinate with the rest of the car. i think if its the only exterior mod or one of very few on your car it will look goofy and stand out too much. but thats just me.

My car is black, with Hyper Black Tarmac 3's. I plan to clear my headlights and paint them black.
Would the tail lights be just too over the top or would it look slick?

i dont like "smoked" tails or head lights ,they are just ugly!

My ride's black with blacked out headlights, 35% Llumar tint......and the overlays looked really, really good IMO. Unfortunately I was worried about getting ticketed, and they reduce the % of light that comes through....they only stayed on for a week or so. Seemed too many potential downsides IMHO.
If you end up getting them I'd advise seeking out a tint shop who's installed them before. Getting the overlay heated enough to conform to the rounded sections of my taillights was a major, major PITA.

I have a black WRX and had these professionally installed by a tinter who has been in business forever. They were too small to cover the respective areas and I would not recommend them. You're better off spraying the lenses with a clear black to alleviate the fitment issues. Check the local laws first, and bear in mind you won't always drive in the local area. Just my advice.

I deal with Rockblocker all the time. Good stuff and it looks great!
I like the fully tinted look. The half tinted looks like ass to me since you have the clear border showing around the red still. :)

I got mine from Lamin-x.com.It was a pain in the ass to put on i had my girlfriends hair dryer outside doing it and i still got bubbles on the front and rear.I ended up taking it off the headlights because it really does cut done on the light it allows through.I did smoke front and rear and took it all off except i cut out some to just go over the reverse light portion of my taillights it looks better than totally covered IMO.
