but Ive heard alot of good things about the genuine STi lips taking massive abuse without cracking, while the replicas like to shatter apart more often. I have no experience in this though, just what I've gathered in my searches.

Just saying then every body and there mom will have this $200 dollar lip and act like they paid $500 for it. I dont find that cool for the guys that paid top dollar for there parts, I really dont care because I'm going with a different bumper/lip anyways. Why do you ask?

IMO- all the people that paid $500 for thier lip should act like they paid $200 for it:rolleyes: There are some parts that buying the top of the line stuff matters but a lip is not one of them-IMO. It is non functional and for looks only. Save your $300 for some parts that matter:lol:

You guys act like if I'm the one who is wanting this $500 lip :lol:, or if I have paid that price for a lip :huh: . Anything I buy for my car is top of the line quality or genuine parts ;) . Lets say you want a front mount from turboXS and you actually buy it from them for $1000. Then the next guy comes up to you and says he has this turboxs front mount he bought from ebay for $299 and it is a quality/genuine peace :huh: , will you feal good about this or will you make a statement like I did in my first post :rolleyes: ?

Dude, the V-ltd lip is totally functional. Subaru says it reduces front end lift by 26 % ;) I'm on the fence about paying 5 hundo for a lip that will probably get F'ed up anyways. Looks sexy as hell though I want it bad.

Yeah... paying $500 for a lip and having it ripped from your bumper by an act of god is not cool. :furious: The V-limited lips are real low to the ground, maybe 2-3 inches from the ground with prodrive springs. Lucky for me my insurance bought my front lip for me. I will most likely never buy one again as it is pretty impractical on an everyday driver.
Keep checking the classifieds for the badge as they pop up from time to time. I sold mine on there last year.

It's cool turbokonejo, I spent upper part of 3xx for a genuine(brand new), and there are ways of telling it's a replica.
The the V2 lip fits into the lower grill, the part that fits into the lower grill is shorter then on the genuine. Unless the car has FMIC, maybe a little harder to tell, but fitment isn't perfect for a replica.
Anyway, Subydude sells the replica for 300 unpainted fiberglass, then you need to get it painted so maybe another 100+ it doesn't even seem worth it.

Maybe people buy the badges because they like the look:huh: Isn't that what replica means? For those that buy the replica, badge it otherwise and then try to sell it as a real thing...they should be shot;) I don't agree with that at all.
No, I am not acting like you are one of the people that wants this $500 lip. Personally I don't really care what you want or buy for your car. I was just responding to your message. To tell you the truth, I feel the same way as some of the others on here. Fortunetly for me I can afford to buy the authentic parts for my cars. I own an 05' S2000 and I will not buy replica stuff for it. That is just for my own liking. For others that buy the replicas that look the same as my more expensive stuff...well...I feel a little embarrassed some times to know that their parts look the same and were far cheaper. If someone bought the same turboxs front mount for far cheaper then me on Ebay, I would be happy for them and sad for me since I did not find that deal first. I would not try to flame them because in all reality, they made a far smarter purchase then me;)
Oh and just because I am new to this forum, does not mean that I am new to modifying cars. I have been doing this for about ten years. I have learned that if you buy authentic parts your chances of fitment and quality are about twice that with replicas. But some replicas out there are equal to or better then the real thing.
Anyways, no hard feelings. I am glad that you can buy nice parts for your car and it sounds like from others that your ride is pretty nice. Keep on moddin!

I would guess that less than 10% of people that have this lip actually feel a difference. And if I am wrong on that...well...who is to say that the replica does not do the same;)

thanks for the help, looks like that would fit. I actually have the genuine peice,I bought it used and somewhat damaged for cheap w/out the badge, and I fixed it up and now just looking for the badge.

i have a limited and mine popped off only once on a very steep dip and the 2nd time it completely tore off into 2 pieces... but that was becuase it was being loaded onto a flat bed and the idiot had it at to steep of an angle... :( but hopefully ill get a new one from insurance :D

I hope that more people believe the same as you. Thats what sets me apart from the cheap people that buy ebay ****. I bought one. I got mine alittle cheaper cause I work for subaru. My advice is buy the real one no matter what it cost its worth it. Beside i would rather support subaru then some cheap china made company that makes knock offs.
