Well came home and got mail from Tai chi .... sti stifter trim. Its not a bolt on, there is some work you need to do to install this piece. But its easy, With the SS allen screws he included it helped alot.

I want it now, where did you get that??????????????
Silver_Bell_WRX 08-02-2001 02:22 AM

Nice looking trim. How much was it.
ravnazn 08-02-2001 07:11 AM

contact info

Vendor: Taichi

Price 100 bucks plus 4 dollars shipping(took a week to get)

Sorry to lazy to hyper ling but do a search in the private sales for trim. There is another person that did the install that had better install descriptions. It is a little involved, you need to relieve some plastic trim for the bolting down of the trim.

But you can email me and I can help you,

alan

Ginseng 08-03-2001 09:21 AM

Beautiful. Saving my pennies...
WRX Sport Driver 08-03-2001 10:53 AM

that'd be really cool if someone with access to a dye or cnc machine would buy one of these and make a replica (without the STi logo) and then sell it for $20.....

$100 is way too much for me.... You can get a whole dash kit for $200.
J Colman 08-03-2001 11:34 AM

Sti stuff is expensive, youre paying for exclusivity

geremy 08-03-2001 12:52 PM

Is it titanium?

Just wondering because I have the STi Ti Shift Knob (which I love love love) and want to know if it matches.
ravnazn 08-03-2001 02:45 PM

trim

Ger-

Its made of a cast aluminum..... I think it will match well with the shifter. It matches very well with the painted aluminum on the dash.

Yeah it is a pricey piece but I really liked the way it ties up the look.

Taichih really came through and it came so fast.. he said to weeks but came in one......... THANKS!

TaiChih 08-03-2001 03:07 PM

As far as I know, there will only be 15-20 people who have this trim from STi in the US. Now that's exclusivity!
RacerinLSL 08-03-2001 03:13 PM

I know this was in the GC8 at some point in time. I used to have the pic. I've scoured my HD and the web but can't find it now. Tai-If you can get it, I'm first in line with a C note in hand!!

Chad:cool:
djerickd 08-03-2001 03:29 PM

Ok now which company is gonna be the first to copy it and sell it for $20, hello APC? hehe j/k looks sweet!
TaiChih 08-03-2001 04:14 PM

Probably RevolutionMotor-NO-works:rolleyes: , They knock -off everything! They got to get there hands on one first. And I'll be Damned if I'm gonna sell one to them. :p

For those interested in purchasing the trim, please direct all questions to me, or http://i-club.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=74432
Thank you.- Stephen
RacerinLSL 08-03-2001 04:24 PM

Stephen - I know we discussed this before, but I forgot. Did you ask your supplier if the GC8 trim is available? Myself and others seem to remember it exsisting. I'd be first in line.

Chad:cool:
TaiChih 08-03-2001 05:27 PM

Sorry, I have the GC8...

I have the GC8 catalog right in front of me and no such trim exists like that STi trim I sell. I can get red, carbon like fiber, wood center consoles, along with radio surround, speedo vents, etc. , but no aluminum trim. I can get for GC8's:
Factory air purifier/ionizer
-lighted key bezel trim for the steering column
-factory power inverter to plug standard 120v appliances into the car
-factory snow chains
-light sensitive head light switch
-Factory HUD for RPM or compass
-Standard all metal key blanks, not STi, in round shape or modern diamond like shape
-factory waterproof car seat covers in light sport blue
and much more.....MUAHAHAHAHAHA:lol:
AZ-GT 08-03-2001 11:44 PM

Hmmm lighted key bezel - how much?

Factory HUD for RPM - how much?

Pics of the above?
TaiChih 08-04-2001 04:18 AM

HUD for RPM is $350
Lighted key bezel $125

Sorry no pics fro the HUD, it's in my catalog and can't post on the web:(

SuBart 08-12-2001 05:28 PM

Does that Sti trim come with the leather boot for the shifter?
Leonardo 08-12-2001 10:46 PM

Nope!

Still waiting for help!

Leo
mbiker97 08-13-2001 03:51 PM

Leo: You need to pull out the center console first. We removed the armrest and then the console. We then cut the old plastic ring off at the attach points. The leather boot was then pulled off, it's just glued on. The console must then be cut so that the STi plate will sit in the hole. We then attached the STi plate on the top with the original plate on the bottom w/ the supplied screws/nuts and some larger washers. This wasn't on my car though. ;) Hope this helps

Seth

p.s. Please correct me if I'm wrong, my brain hasn't been working very well! :D
Leonardo 08-13-2001 04:59 PM

Thanks Seth!

NE1 else?
